    Dave - thank you so very much for the video. That was way above and beyond! Your advice is perfect for me and gives me lots of confidence that I was lacking because of all the contrary opinions. In fact, After watching the video I got up and threw a bunch of arrows and much to my surprise saw significant improvement just from gaining that confidence so again , thank you. I’m just a beginner (at age 64) and consider it a privilege to have found you and your consistent, clear, and sensible advice. Now, if I could just stop snatching at my darts…

    Hi Dave, I'm from Sydney and I just would to say how much I appreciate your videos. I have been watching other CZcams videos on how to improve my dart game but still not much improvement on my skill. I just recently subscribed on your channel and I have to say that most of your coaching videos, techniques and advises have really worked for me. It has boosted my confidence and interest to play darts again! I will continue watching your watching your videos and practice regularly using your principles and techniques and hopefully I will become a dart player in no time :). Thanks again Dave for sharing your skill and knowledge. God Bless!

    Great Stuff Mate but what you shown on the video was levelling up the throwing arm but I know you might think I’m a bit silly but that is what I’m getting at about my throwing Arm.👍👍

    Hi Dave, thanks so much for all the videos. You've helped me get into the sport at a later stage but already really enjoying it. Only been playing a few months so still loads to learn but when I have a higher elbow and level as described here I always seem to throw too high, would there be an explanation for this. It also quite uncomfortable but judging by what you have said before this may mean its correct and just takes getting used to. Thanks again for all the videos and inspiration and tips. Steve.

    Thanks so much Dave, you've really helped me get started in this game.
    One thing I would like to know about sighting- Are you viewing the target throughout the entire throw, with BOTH eyes? Or does the arm or hand come in front of the eye/s at any point?
    Would be great to know what you are seeing during the throw.

    Fantastic vids and info I’ve learned a lot. Question, I’m not one to keep changing darts often but how do you go about setting up your dart with the proper shaft flight combination to achieve the optimum arrow for your throw? Also, with so many types of shafts how do you know what to use and what length?

    • @DynamiteDaveLlewellyn
      @DynamiteDaveLlewellyn Před 6 lety

      hi if you go to dartscorner.co.uk and have a look there should be a tune up kit available you get all lengths and shapes of flight and stems then methodically work through them till you find the combo that makes your darts fly the most level. cheers Dynamite Dave.

  • @Self696
    @Self696 Před 6 lety

    Hi Dave. I'm struggling with cross eye dominance issue. I throw with me left hand just like you but with right eye dominance. Appreciate your tips & advice to get that straight eye line. Should i tilt my head a little bit more to the left when throwing?
    Great video as usual. Cheers.

    • @DynamiteDaveLlewellyn
      @DynamiteDaveLlewellyn Před 6 lety +1

      Turn you head so it faces the board keeping your stance the same close your dominant eye and throw get used to your weak eye doing the work then reintroduce the good eye slowly and you should find they even up or the dominant eye will ease off a bit. Cheers Dynamite Dave.

    Dave how many minutes or hours do you practice when not leading up to tourny or league game? And when it's not going so well do you plow on keep at it or give it a rest?

    • @DynamiteDaveLlewellyn
      @DynamiteDaveLlewellyn Před 6 lety

      Hi Philz Leading up to a tournament i step up the practice but if like now all my time is on the channel so im down to about half an hour a day but leading up to a touni or a big match i will be up on about three to four hours a day. its a balance don't burn yourself out. Cheers Dynamite Dave.

  • @danfromspout
    @danfromspout Před 6 lety

    What a paradigm shift! I thought this entire time that the correct way to aim the dart was to put the dart in line with your target when sighting it, so that you see the back of the dart in the center of the target. If I keep my elbow higher as you say here, my hand seems to block my view of the target (if I close my forward, dominant eye). I can still see the target with my rear eye, kinda "through" my hand. Am I doing it right?

    • @DynamiteDaveLlewellyn
      @DynamiteDaveLlewellyn Před 6 lety

      danfromspout the dart should be slightly to the right of your right cheek if your right handed and left if left handed like me watch where my hand goes when I throw. 👍👍

    • @danfromspout
      @danfromspout Před 6 lety

      Gotcha. One thing I do to keep my upper arm/elbow in position AND sight through the dart is hold my forearm forward enough to put the dart in my sight line with the target. That way, I have a clear focus in my aim and can maintain the tick-tock motion at my elbow. When I draw back, the dart comes just in front of my right cheek, more under my eye than my ear.

      Terry tibbs Mervin does Gary doesn't look at his eyes he looked direct at where he is throwing and they never move. And there comparative standards and consistency speaks volumes. Cheers Dynamite Dave
