It's high time for all .NET developers to cross-train themselves in front-end technologies. Understanding the Sitecore ecosystem and grasping the nuances of its various components and modules is crucial. Architects have a significant responsibility in this context, as their suggestions for implementation can greatly influence client outcomes.
Architects should be able to compare multiple implementations and solutions to arrive at an optimal solution for the client. Serverless architecture using cloud tools like Azure Functions or AWS Lambda can help us implement Sitecore .NET SDK solutions. By developing a sample implementation while keeping scalability and adaptability in mind, we can effectively convince clients to choose the .NET Core SDK for implementation.
Applications that require integration with multiple RESTful APIs can be implemented using the .NET stack more easily compared to front-end frameworks.

Thanks Gopi for your insight, what are the topics I need to prepare to get into sitecore project/job in current job market, recruiters come with different combinations of expectation along with sitecore, which combination of technologies along with sitecore skill will help to get wide range of opportunities, considering I am a .net developer n gone through your sitecore videos?

The most sought-after skills in the current Sitecore job market are in JSS and any of the FE frameworks (Next.JS, React, Angular, or Vue.js). Since Next.JS is used in more greenfield projects, you may want to concentrate more on that framework.
Ultimately, it boils down to your preference: front-end, back-end, or full-stack development. If you're inclined towards back-end development, it might be a better idea to focus on custom .NET builds rather than Sitecore implementations.

Hello Sir. I had a query regarding Sitecore. The service based firm I have joined in as a fresher is mainly focussed on Sitecore Technology. Would It be appropriate for freshers to directly work in Sitecore domain, the reason I am concerned is I have heard that Sitecore technology as compared to other is not much used and valued. Although the firm says that we can decide. The frontend and backend with sitecore are the options. Ig that we will work with React/Next JS & Sitecore for frontend and C#,.NET with Sitecore for backend. What should I opt for considering long term career perspectives. I want to upskill and not limit my skillset so that if required I can switch to a product based company.

Hellop Gopi i am glad i found you.
i have couple questions please spare some time.
I am .net developer. i have worked on dotnet projects thru out my 8 years of career. From front end to back end i have done it.
I have created 2 Apps in react native. Recently i created a project in Vanilla JS and node js. I have also worked somewhat on angular as well.
I tried to learn site core before but couldn't get any road map where to start how to start and get going.
i am very well aware that .net will be out of the scene sooner or later.
Can you please guide me where to start for site core the licensing is the huge issue with sitecore how can a dev start learning site core if he have to buy a license worth thousands. Correct me if i am wrong.

Unfortunately for Sitecore Learning, the biggest challenge is the license. If you are working for either a Sitecore client or a partner, then things will be easy for you in terms of sandboxes, licenses, etc.
In the coming days, I plan to create a roadmap for Sitecore learning with respect to SaaS platforms.
You are in a much better position to learn Sitecore, as you are already familiar with both the front end and the back end.

If someone is just sticking to only js and react js then ?

    • @GopiGujjula

Then, I believe it is easy to move on to Sitecore because they can reuse their existing skills and learn the Sitecore concepts.

ReactJs developers should acquaint themselves with Next.js and use that skill for Sitecore JSS-based development.

@@sivagopi123 Should freshers go for Sitecore considering very limited companies use it and it's a CMS. Is there any value in being a Sitecore developer in early stage of your career. I haven't seen any Product Based Companies using it.
