- In this video you get a tour of my happy place, my craft room. My craft room is in the basement of my home. It is DIY and created to have an industrial feel to it. I wish to have a warehouse one day... lol dreams... I homeschool my youngest son as well as work in this room. If you have any questions about the things you see in this tour, please leave a comment. I respond to everyone in time. Although paper crafting is first and foremost my hobby, I am an affiliate for several companies. I am not currently on any design teams but I have been in the past. I do however get paid for paper crafting videos so the items in this room are in excess of the normal everyday crafter. I have purchased most of the things in this room myself. Only and handful of supplies have ever been sent to me for free. If it isn't a stamp set, I most likely paid for it myself. I do not plan to link to all of my products in this video. A great look, “behind the scenes”. A lot of home made and ikea originated furniture really bring it altogether.

What an incredible craft room! I’ve been crafting for probably 50 years. I’ve only had a craft room for about the last 15 years or so. Unfortunately I like to do lots of things, the newest being card making. I like to sew, I make figures and ornaments out of polymer clay. I used to do a lot of wood crafts. Needless to say I have a lot of stuff and I’m struggling to keep (in truth to get) it organized. You’re so fortunate to have so much space and to have a husband who can build you what you want. Love it!
I love to see you and husband teaching your kids the power of creating. What starts off as a bowl in kindergarten, can turn into the ability to design and collaborate in making this amazing space. Thank you for letting us into your world.

And every papercrafter I know has a "staging area" lol.

We do think alike. I’m saving up for a new sewing machine. I don’t want to be frustrated with it so much. I’ve got it working pretty well but for a good two weeks it was making thread nests on the underside. It does also like to eat the ends of my fabric, so I’ve learned that I have to start way further down into the seam and try to backstitch. I just keep dropping pennies into the new sewing machine jar. I wish you could come over to craft. ♥️
@@KorenWiskman Lynda says the thread nests have to do with bobbin tension. What do I know? I keep snapping the top thread off. Sooner or later, I WILL have a tree skirt made of Christmas presents. I will!!

I have carpet in my craft room, and that's a very real worry! I found that a rolling chair mat was a great solution for me. I bought the biggest one I could find for my craft table area, and it's proven useful a few times now.

I have to say that you have one of the best craft rooms. I liked so may of the items that you have for your supplies. I want to buy some Ikea drawers and shelving, but I will have no one to build for me. I am on the hunt for book shelfs . I have a lot of different crafts I dabble in.
You can build the ikea stuff on your own. If I can do it, you can do it too. Most of their pieces only require a screw driver. I’m so glad you enjoyed my space. It’s not perfect but it’s mine! Lol 😆 Thank you so much for watching. ♥️♥️♥️

Oh Koren, ditch that singer and get yourself either the Janome 9400 or a juki. I love both my little Janome or the bigger heavy duty Juki. I've been sewing since I was 2nd grade. Mom was a seamstress. I have a old old Bernina too that is a tank. Love to get a new one but the price of a car! I would in a heartbeat though. Looking for affordable try those other 2.
Wonderful room getting lots of ideas for my tiny room.
I found a Bernette B35 to tide me over while I save up for a good machine. I want to invest in something that will last me a long time.

I started out on the dining room table with a bag full of stamps and paper. I still have some of those supplies that I started with. Wood mount stamps mostly. I don’t think I will ever let them go. Thank you for watching ♥️

Love it!!!!! I would live down there to. I hope you have a rider for your craft room on your home owners insurance…. Basements are Notorious for flooding. Mine did twice 😪
We have built in protection on the walls. Plus we live on top of a hill. If it floods, minimal loss. We pay enough attention to the weather I hope. There is always a chance. I would manually be down there with buckets if I had too. Lol 😆

That’s what Tim says too. “I have to build roofs first, then your craft room.” Dang people needing shelter! I need faceplates! Lol 😆 I’m a very patient person. I have to be to live with a contractor. Plus, I’m fully capable of doing much of the work myself… 😃 but I don’t. The glass shelves are from ikea. They are super easy, you can do those yourself. They come in a 2/pack.

I use to keep a Creative Memories rolling tote full of supplies and that's all I had. I worked and had two kids, I didn't have a Tim. Now, things are much different. I'm so glad you like my space. Thank you so much for watching Dayna.

Love the fact you have the entire basement area! Most of our basement is my husbands. I suppose I could get part of it.... I also really like the door. We have a similar walkout, and with a door of that type a lot of light would come in (although its my husbands woodworking area he could use the light).

I used our living room. We technically have a living room and a family room in this house and we don't use either, so it was easy to get rid of one in exchange for a craft room. I moved down here to have more space and to spread out. It's nice, but dark and cold, and I hate the spiders. Although they strangely remind me of my Dad so I make friends with them. Great craft space Koren. I have a new space that is a work in progress and I'm also lucky enough to have a husband who builds stuff for me. I'm on the hunt for storage solutions that are available in Australia. It can be hard to find stuff that works well and is a good product. My local 2nd hand store has done well with my not working "solutions".

So Korea if your sink isn’t in yet here’s what you could do. When Tim just happens to be downstairs with you (if he does) get the sink you have to put in, turn it upside down and make sure it’s backwards and in pencil outline the sink in pencil and if there is holes for the tap outline those circles in the wrong place. Then get the (the name of the tool escapes my brain right now) and plug it into an extension cord that is overloaded already and see if Tim is watching without him knowing of course. Hopefully by then he will come over to take over and not just correct you with how you should be doing it. Good luck🍀 with a 🦄 for extra luck!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is a genius plan but I know how to install the sink. Our plumber needs to come over and finish his job before the sink can go in. He is doing it for free, so I don’t expect him until his business slows down, I’m ok with that. I’m glad he is busy. Thank you for assisting me though with a genius plan. ♥️♥️♥️

I only have these few scrapbooks. I love to keep photo albums more than scrapbooking. I have a few of those in the house. My felt is used for card projects, ornaments… Dexter just made a stuffed dinosaur… all kinds of things. I’m so glad you like my room. I feel like I could be more organized.
