This is a film people! Not a dance performance. Anyone who knows anything about dance can see she's a gorgeous dancer and the choreography is in service to the film and the filmmaker clearly was not only concerned with showing choreography.. If you aren't interested in film and want to see more choreography go to a dance performance or watch a video of a dance performance.

i don't really agree with the negative comments. I thought it was creative, nicely edited, and atmospheric. The dancing was superb. Part precision, yet partly uninhibited, impassioned, engagement, where she was clearly holding nothing back. Should there have been more prolonged and sustained bursts of dancing from an editing point of view? Yes, but only because I could watch this woman dance all day, and have trouble tearing my eyes away.

This was beautifully choreographed.
The reason for the many close ups of her face, is more than likely because it is also equally, emoting the emotional passion as her body movements are. I believe there was a great balance between the two, to deliver the complete feel of the dance and the song.

The choreography is rather basic for me. However, that should not take away the beauty of the performance and the way that it captivated me from beginning to end. The rain and thunder just exemplified it. The movement, while rather posy, was done well to the music. What impressed me was how she let herself go and melted into the music and surroundings. There are two types of dancers in my experience. Feelers and Technicals. I find this to be a great example of how focus on technique can almost limit a performance. I do think she could have pushed herself more and done something more challenging. But that shouldn't take away from the piece itself because it was breathlessly beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us. :)
I agree with what you said in regards to choreography. It did pick up in towards the end and that was my favorite. Maybe the director/editor wanted those slower moves etc so it wouldn't build to quickly. I would definitely have preferred to have the choreo played in some sort of sequence or have continuity when it came to switching shots/angles. But this video is amazing!! We're just being picky ;)

+LaneKSwenson See, I think I would have minded if this dance was being live, on a stage, in a traditional manner. But being a short film of sorts, the focus was more on cinematography and her acting, and I thought it would have just been weird if it had been much more technical than this.
