I had an encounter with “don’t drop your pants in the rave guy” at that Otakon. Immediately after he came out the rave while yelling that, he walked straight towards me and my friends outside of the rave area and started freaking out repeating that over and over, followed by him starting to speak gibberish, to finally him dropping to the floor in fetal position and rocking from side to side. I believe he got escorted out by security after that?

8 Years of conventions, con horror stories are always great. Top ones in my books are the girl that got the elephant statue stuck in her at Akon Hiton Anatole, The syrup incident in one of the rooms that broke the plumbing for then entire floor at the sheraton, the furries going at it and getting animal control called on them at either akon-or afest, I think that same year some were tased in the hotel lobby for doing it. And secondhand from a friend heard the one with the coom pizzia at midwest furrest. Worked security for some cons, the stuff you get calls on and see.
Also I can recall a 6 year streak of A-fest getting the rave water spiked with extasy til someone got the guy after a kid got into it, we were told to stand down and con members left him unmoving next to the dumpster in the loading dock.

Back when Kumoricon was still held in Vancouver some guys tried to force me into a van while I was walking to a hotel party. I have a small frame and was dressed as a maid. The guy who grabbed me was incredibly drunk and kept telling me he wanted to dance. His friend in the end grabbed him, scolded him and shooed me away. The van was part of a small motorcade parked down the side of the road. I ended up reporting it to con volunteer security, but they brushed it off and I opted to go to the party instead of the police. I ended up bringing it up during a "Convention Nightmares" panel the next day, and a staff member pulled me aside and took me to the admins to report it to them. They were encouraging me to file a police report at first, but I didn't catch their plates and after I gave them the detailed description of the incident and the type of people involved we basically settled on the stance that even if I did file a report the police probably weren't going to do anything about it. I stopped cosplaying femme characters after that and switched to post-apocalypse themes.

At one con I was also invited up to a party by a friend of mine who is a furry. Not being in that room for more than 5 minutes there was an orgy, then my weird self just filling up a drink at the table then left. But that wouldn't be my craziest, craziest year was the hotel across from the main con some dude was partying so hard he smashed the room window and fell out. Somehow he survived.
