Hi, i just want to THANK YOU for still making all this awesome videos, sharing advice etc. etc. While i'm "old guy" here as i grew up with reading PalmSounds and Discchord (best wishes to Tim!), im sure many ios musicians were raised on your wonderful videos!
Ok I got the Chowmatrix and dropped a tiny tip in the jar - New Year Same Old Skint as we call it in Scotland - and it’s because I saw it here. The Nembrini would be much more interesting, if the ‘container’ or ‘standalone rack’ they also offer, was AUv3 instead if standalone - that would get around my beloved GarageBand’s iPadOS limitations of FX slot numbers available, being 4 or whatever. And more importantly, lets me do my favourite thing of dropping two delays in, in series, with vastly different settings. I would wish it had longer delay than 1 bar. At least two, just for the heck of it. Anyway Jakob, I am catching up on your back-catalog, so Happy New Year if I have not said it already, for 2024. FYI, I have stretched a year ago, to an M1 iPad Pro. I am literally poised for a 14-inch iPad Pro to drop, with whatever processor Apple have in mind for it. At that point, I will look into that device as a fairly long-term proposition. My M1 is the max spec, because I have found by much experimentation, that less than 55Gb free SSD, means risking DAWs on iPad not working properly, Audio Units drop out etc…my ‘safe’ minimum I found was about 70Gb though. That’s why I jumped from the intel-based Pro 2 anyway. Take care all.
ChowMatrix is really fun to work with, especially if you’re into experimenting with sounds. Btw I’ve updated the pinned comment with an app called “Spirangle”. A viewer tipped me off about I Neon Silicon and I found another free delay. Pretty good catch!
All I’ll say is use a bitcrusher on a single note from an oscillator, then run stereo lag time and look at it through the xy setting on the apematrix oscilloscope
Hey, thank you for sharing! So far I tried Stereo Lag as a plug-in in LumaFusion. It’s an interesting straight forward effect and I’ll definitely use it. I want to try Chow Matrix as well. It seems like it will be a steeper learning curve.
@@JakobHaq I feel it is still somewhat buggy at times, but I still don’t have a formed opinion because I haven’t used them much. I saw your video as an opportunity to start looking into it. I’ll keep you posted.
I can’t find a good delay on iOS and magic delay pricy but sounds good but more for sound design can’t see it in a real mix the search continues I’ll try chow and ardelay
I’m looking to buy an interface for my iPhone to plug my synth / guitar into…. What apps would I run them into to get an amp sim?? Would I then be able to open these delays within that amp sim software? Great vid!
There are quite a few options. You could get a guitar suite app like Tonestac Pro or maybe Amplitube. Those are full suits but they do not host AUv3 apps. I’d say you get the most options by Running your guitar through an app called AUM. Its like a mixer app and AUv3 host. You could the load up the delays in there along with any type of guitar plugin or guitar suite that supports AUv3. There’s a lot you can do with AUM since it’s a modular mixer.
Hey! Have you done anything on connecting ipad synths to ableton on mac? I can get it to work, but its never stable? There’s no simple way on ipad pro, since there is no audio jack. Or do you know if any youtubers are good at that?
I don’t have any videos on that. But I’ve heard that some people use “IDAM” to do that connection. If that doesent work then the old school way of using an audio/midi interface for the iDevice (iPad in your case) is always a sure bet of doing it.

Another great delay is "Lunar Lander" that is almost Free, it has one IAP but the free version is awesome!
The dev removed it from the AppStore. Doesn’t seem to be interested in maintaining iOS.

Spriangle is amazing
I use delays far too much- especially in modular- but it’s a really easy way of doubling/trebling/and so on a sound, and rhythmically too.

I haven’t done much testing with AUv3’s inside LF for a while. It used to be buggy. How is working out for you?

Chow Matrix looks amazing
It really is. It hides a lot of power but it can be tricky and time consuming doing stuff in there, so save a lot of presets!
