- It has been a love/hate relationship lately with my 2021 Can Am Renegade 1000 XMR. Having a miserable time getting it tuned properly to unlock the left over HP and forever playing with clutch settings. I was ready to lose my mind! I think we are close...

Sounds like you need to hit up Peterborough powers ports and get that tune done proper.
Glad you got it all sorted don.
Thanks Jeremy, I think its sorted out now just playing with clutch settings. We'll have to have a head to head race again. She pulls hard in H gear and speedo is recalibrated for the tire size. 120 km/m starts feeling a bit sketchy on these tires
@@ADVENTURESThisWay haha ya they wonder a bit at 120. The cryptids were good to 130 and then they got sketchy.
Great as always......
Thank you so much 😀
You are killing it bud
Thanks Ron, I glad you think so!
Sorry to hear Don about all the hickups, we've all had one of them "We will see how it goes" moments to then almost immediately wish we had've changed things
Yes definitely! I was certainly feeling that several times during the ride in my next video!
This video is giving me ptsd from my Polaris repairs lol
Good luck working out the bugs
sorry for triggering you!
Had Stage 3 with rvs, Nothing but clutch problems with mine, stock secondary exploded, then stm secondary seized on shaft and had to get all cut off then my new rev x primary exploded and took out my secondary 🤣🤣all within like 500 mi 🤦
Dang! Sounds like you have worse luck than me!!
Man that is frustrating. Ryan is great to deal with. On my ole girl I have the power commander 5 and a local dyno tune , works freaking great. Technology can sometimes be a pain in the ass.
Yes frustration is a an emotion I was feeling alright! Ryan and my buddy Scott have been great to deal with. Any $$ money savings went out the window with having to drive over an hour 1 way, 4 times. BUT she rips. Still some clutch fine tuning...
@@ADVENTURESThisWay glad to hear it !
I’m having issues with my bike too! I sucks so much! My water pump seals are shot and the shop has to wait 2 months to fix it! And my dad bike has an axle going so i can’t ride that either. Bad timing.
Nice osta hoodie by the way!
Nice to see the bike fixed up though! Keep the good rips coming!
Ya it sucks when things keep seeming to go wrong, one after another! Hope you're back out riding soon!
@@ADVENTURESThisWay the axle is clicking a bit but it can handle some hard wheelies so I’ll take it for a ride this weekend. Fingers crossed
@@ADVENTURESThisWay never mind. Needs new tie rods and has messed up power steering from a crash a month ago. Lol survived the rip though
@@gretchenmorfea5988 sounds like it needs a little TLC
How did you tune it did you buy a tuner a Dyno jet tuner or did you reflash your ECU or ECM not really sharing it to these bikes I was thinking about buying a dynojet tuner but am I going to have to take it to the shop to tune it all so or can I do it by myself like I used to do on my vortex for my YFZ
Many people purchase the PV3 and then purchase a tune file from a company. I took mine to my friend who is licensed by RVS Performance. This plan was to save me some money. But that went out the window after having to make 4 trips to his place to get the tuning sorted out. RVS has been tuning for many years and Ryan was determined to get it right. It just took a while and was frustrating at times.
The most effective way is to take it a shop and put it on a Dyno and then the tuning an be applied and adjusted specifically for your bike. Apparently some 2021 Can Am's have been hard to tune. Most of the time its one and done. Guess I was unlucky.
don would you but a Outlander 570 or the Honda rubicon more for a little work and some play what one would you?
If your going to work it ( tow heavy) I'd do the foreman with the solid axle.. you won't loose ground clearance like you would with IRS.
Well, they are 2 completely different platforms. The nice thing with Outlander 570 is the power of the twin cylinder. Either is a good choice, really comes down to personal preference.
Thanks
I know Can-Am does not optimize their performance but there's a reason why the timing and the air fuel ratios are set where they're set
Do you own a Dyno shop or something? Obviously I could have tune deleted. But I don't like to just throw my money away with out getting some resolve.
@@ADVENTURESThisWay no just experience with bad tunes. Any time you do a tune you should have a AFR test done. That confirmes the tune is correct
@@ADVENTURESThisWay I know you spent a lot of money on the tune and it sucks.
@@twigg5705 first reference to that I've heard
@@ADVENTURESThisWay I didn't mean the tune sucks I just meant spending money on something that doesn't work sucks
Man I got a question for you in a year or so. Is the can am that much better then the Polaris especially from a reliable stand point? Love your videos
Overall superior build quality over Polaris no question. The Can Ams do have a few weak points is you ride them hard. Some is design based some is poor quality control. But the power delivery is second to none. Polaris has a comfortable ride...
These can ams are extremely tough and reliable ive sunk and rolled mine and its still going strong.
I don't recommend the after market tuner he has I sent my ECU out to get reflashed By ATVflashing
Pretty weird to see a southern grouse act like that. But I have seen it once before I had one at work follow me around and would eat crickets from my hand. Then I try to going grouse hunting around here and have no chance at being fast enough to shoot one. They are very skittish as you said.
I have never seen one act like that, it was weird. Normally Super skittish! Northern Ontario, whole different story!
Go see Andy brown he will get everything fixed pv3 doesn’t cut it many people have similar issues he will get you fixed up right
he would definitely be my next phone call, if this issue is not resolved. But i think we are good now
Get a Polaris highlighter lol
Been down the Polaris road already
you need a new tuner,,,period,,,telling you it needs to learn the tune,,lol
Those tunes are not guaranteed to work with your bike
Motorsports addicts… for your tune for dynojet power vision 3.. get away from the other shit companies. Thousands of people from Canada run that tune and have nothing but the best reviews of it. I had it on my 2019 renegade and when my 2023 gets here it will have it again.. my buddies 850xmr has the RVSand he fought them for 2 months before they got rude because they said his atv had engine problems. He went though motorsports addicted and it feels like a 1000 and runs better then ever and has had it for 6 months now with not one hiccop. Switch companies.. RVS sucks
DELETE THE TUNE!!!!!!!
