Building A Budget PC "Case": Part 1

I'm not the first person to give this a shot, nor am I the last one to do it as cheaply (or badly lol) as you will see in this video!
Sorry about the radio silence, life had me busy, but I am definitely still around to make more videos. In fact, I have 3-4 on the back burner currently. Just catching up to them so I can release a ton of new content very soon. As per usual, I am tired. So, I sleep. Hope you enjoyed the vid!

i turned a broken bookshelf speaker into a PC case - it was the right size for an ITX build. probably lots of speaker boxes from MDF or particle board or something is available to gut, wire up, and do some simple quality of life stuff like cut holes for switches or add a front IO panel and fan mounts.

I was hoping you would use the card board box entirely
when I was 12 I found a bunch of computers at the side of the road took them was about 5 or 6 of them got the best parts put it all into one PC
didn't boot, but the fans spun and didn't boot I put it into a cardboard box either because the GPU wouldn't fit or my mom threw all the computers away

Great video! For the SSD mount, I believe it's supposed to be mounted on it's side, with the side screw points aligning with holes on the bottom. So it would be standing vertically.

Ah I see now, I think you are right! I have a creative solution for the mount though, so I will probably show that off regardless. Thanks for pointing that out!

This was really interesting to see! This is for sure an interesting way to get a budget pc going.
For the part 2 can you put a big hole with mesh on it instead of a bunch of little holes?

Open air frames are AWESOME. Now in fairness I tend to spend a bit more as I like to use Xproto frames. But another cool option is to use the Aluminum Extrusion beams and build the frame exactly the way you want it. Not as budget as the option you chose but really not that pricey and gives you crazy customization options.

Yeah, I hope to one day explore open air frame/bench styled PC cases, as alternatives to traditional ones. I imagine they can give you a lot of different styles if you know what you are capable of.

Really love these types of channels focusing on the budget side of our hobby… there are plenty of videos about the shiny new toys but you get what is expected in terms of outcome… but damn budget build videos are mostly surprising

You could even make it look clean by using a box cutter and a ruler to cut the cardboard.
