My Journey to Islam

- I recorded this in 2020 after my daughter Amani had been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. I didn't mention this in my talk but I allude to how my faith has helped me during tough times.
I have now been Muslim for 30 years. It's not easy to change your whole lifestyle and learn a new way of living but my faith has certainly given me guidance and support during difficult times.
When my daughter passed away in Feb 2022 I needed my faith more than ever. Her death may have shaken my faith but it's deep foundations helped me to cope and navigate the deepest pain which lives with me now for a lifetime.

I was born Muslim but I feel humble when I listen to stories like yours. My condolences for your loss.

Beautifully explained. Even Muslims born into the faith can resonate as we are not always practicing the way we should be and then we are trying to fill those voids, until we realise that we have the greatest gift Islam.
