I've been watching Isorrow for 3 years now. I still don't own a single paradox game or any game Isorrow has played for those 3 years i've been watching him. But for some reason, I'm still here, watching this man suffer on map games. I love you Isorrow, thank you for everything.

I started with rome and played than total war. After that i started empire and stopped after 2 hours. I think its one of the worst in the series
My favorite Total War game.
To stop the docks from being raided, just place a single cheap unit in it regardless if its ground units or not, the enemy navy wont gonin and destroy it, just blockade it.

Just downloaded the DarthMod mod yesterday and not only did it run smoothly but DANG it was SO much fun. The real time fighting with enhanced smoke and rifle/musket sounds was the cherry on top for me.
I still prefer the budget version which is Imperial Glory. Dont know why but I just prefer it over Empire

Just don't try asking about it on the steam forum. This one guy has been lying to people about Darthmod on steam for nearly a decade. Sad.
It runs smooth for a mod to a buggy game like Empire. It is so choppy to me, and it still has the janky Dagestan Coalition, as well as the Ottoman Empire spending an eternity on its turn because it created 50 stacks of 1 units just moving back and forth in the Balkans.
Empire is unironically my favorite even though it's so bad, I really wish it was better
Edit: also if you as maratha put 20 general units on a single dhow you are somehow fitting like 300 elephants in a boat that's about 12 feet long
Edit 2: if you ever want to basically eliminate rebel problems then turn off taxes in every province except your capital (so rebels only spawn there), and tax the lower classes to switch to republic then immediately afterwards tax the middle classes instead to switch to constitutional monarchy. As a constitutional monarchy the lower classes don't get a happiness meter and since they're the only ones who take public order penalties from industrialization you basically never have to worry about rebellions again.
I get the feeling, horrible AI, tons of bugs, but the campaign is great.
CA really needs to learn that the combat is the lesser part of TW games, it's the reason why Napoleon, which is better than empire in every way except campaign, is dead, and empire, which sucks @ everything except the campaign was one of the most played TW games in history, and some people still return to Empire, not Napoleon.

@@pnb328 I’d say it’s more that combat isn’t where the real staying power to Total War comes from. The battles are absolutely the draw of these games, but I continue replaying them for the ability to expand my borders.
Empire 2 should really have happened by now

I only started playing empire earlier this year and it’s actually become my favorite older strategy game despite me having a whole collection of old strategy games that I grew up playing and loved; it’s just a great era combined with solid fun mechanics and great audio/visual design

Oh, yes this was definitively the best total war game. I played SO many hours of that when I was still in school. From one ship only high sea battle to cooperative campaigns where a single turn would take so long, that one would to their turn while the other did their homework. It was just epic.

I did Maratha Confederacy twice in all my Empire (since well...Netherlands and Prussia are fun aswell) and both times....Poland-Lithuania became a monster.
Never knew you could play as Indian nations in a total war game, totally going to try this one now

Napoleon TW and Empire were not only very fun for me, they got me to finally appreciate the bravery and tactics of soldiers in this time period in history. Before I always thought it was just a silly way to wage war. It's opened me up to so many books and movies about the era. For that I'm forever grateful.

I would LOVE to see isorrow do a video where he accepts every offer the ai gives him in this game (land swaps, wars, alliances and trade deals) and watch the bordergore

THIS was an unexpected but welcome treat! I've missed iSorrow videos on TW.
I haven't played most of the total war games, but empire is probably my favorite. I like the time period. I like the overall feel of the game, that it wasn't designed with DLC in mind in order to unlock the full game - it was just meant to be the full, fun experience. Hardly perfect, but good at accomplishing it's mission.
I'd love to see you play out more of the actual battles, too. It's interesting to see how other people approach the same situation in different ways.
Warts and all the best total war there ever was. Loved it from the second I got it back when it came out and always will. So glad this game is finally getting the love it deserves 🙌 👏
There used to be a multiplayer campaign for this.
You might have a big enough following that you can get them to unlock it because it's quite interesting.
I played it back in the day, you needed to ask them for a key and hope that they gave you.

I always see Empire as the transition into the newer version of Total War games and the building blocks for Shogun 2 and its DLC.
I just went through a Spain run. Used to be angry about how the naval battles were “broken”. Found new fun in chain shotting sails and capturing as many vessels as possible.

CK3- Play as Cumania, Incest-only. Eventually, change your country to a religion that makes it so you can marry your sibling.
EU4- Sell off all your land in mainland Eurasia and migrate to the Phillipines.
Vic2- Become a great power, but your economy must be based mostly on furniture and alcohol.
Hoi4- Artillery only.

This is the first and only total war game I have ever played, and I absolutely loved it

The first playthrough I did on this game was actually the same nation and I must say cannons hit hard
I remember that back when this first came out, AI wouldn't put troops on ships. Made the Brits completely impotent if run by AI, or completely invulnerable if you played as them.
My favorite total war games. Personally I love playing as the ottomans, slowly taking over europe from the East. Sending as many ships to the trading ports as I can before they’re all taken up, but that’s quite the sail from Istanbul. First turn I always remove the Barbary states as my protectorate

Even though november is over, id like to request that you take a look at road to 56 as France, as someone who did some localization work, oddly enough even after like 5 years or about 5, there is a little bit of a meme still in there regarding one of the french rocketry techs, seeing how you have your old pepe meme, might be funny to give it a look.

Too be fair if I was dealing with a revolt every couple turns and riding stinky elephants into battle, I'd be drinking as well. Poor commander just can't handle the mess that is an ISorrow game.
Empire Total War was my first read game.
I recently started a Barbary States campaign. Spent a bunch of time appeasing other European powers for peace instead of Spain. Then I conquered Naples and Sardinia from Spain with Anatolia from Ottoman rebels. This faction didn’t have a lot of units to mess around with though.

There was a time when sega had a opt in beta for multiplayer. I never knew that and neither did my friend. We found out and sadly no keys would be given anymore and the lucky few who have it i damn you !!
