Just updating this description, as a lot of recent traffic has found their way here because of Rika Kihira. THANK YOU all for the amazing kindness, and beautiful words for my music. I'm so honored by the recent attention "A Beautiful Storm" has received in Japan with the champion ice skater, Rika Kihira.
EXPLANATION OF VERSIONS: There are several versions of this song. The original is from my debut album, 'Key of Sea', that was released in 2007. However, in 2017, I decided to release a "10 Year Special Edition" of the album and all of the original tracks were remastered, and 4 additional NEW bonus tracks were added. These 4 are the most popular songs from the album, "A Beautiful Storm", "The Red Aspens", "The Tempest", and "Release". The 'Special Edition' version of "A Beautiful Storm" is what you hear and see IN THIS MUSIC VIDEO. However, the version that Rika Kihira skated to is the remastered original version.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE? The new 'Special Edition" version has been completely re-orchestrated, and there is a longer more Classical intro and ending to the song. There are more beats, more violin, and the tempo is also a bit faster.
JAPAN SPECIAL RELEASE: As of March 2019, there will also be yet a 3rd version of this song released by my Japanese label, Avex Entertainment, on the "Key of Sea - Special Japan Edition" PHYSICAL release of the album (in stores March 20, 2019). This 3rd version will be a special Japan-only solo piano rendition of the song, and some additional changes were added to the song to make it a bit different as well. As I enter year 8 in my studies of the violin (I’m a late musical bloomer, I just turned 60 and decided that I needed become a violinist). I love this number. I've listened to several versions of it by Ms. Thomas. It always reminds me of a voyage on a Coast Guard ship fifty years ago. There was a fierce storm, and we were ordered not to go out on the weather deck as our 378-foot ship plowed through thirty-foot seas. I was very young and daring and, okay, stupid, so I went out. I was on the first weather deck just outside the mess deck, port side, behind the stormcastle, and green water flowed up to my waist as I clung with all my might to a safety rail. And I will swear that I heard this music in my head as I defied nature and lawful orders, because I know for a fact some things are more important than all that -- like the call of the Beautiful Storm. Thank you, ma'am, and semper paratus.

Your music goes beyond words. Due to getting hit by a car 3 separate times and 24 surgeries I use music to help deal with and reduce pain. I lie on my bed and began playing music, close my eyes and let your music take me out of body and go on a journey. The style of each song changes the type of journey I go on. These journeys gets my mind off the pain and relax and refresh me. I am an retired Sr. Design Engr and do photography professionally and pain does cause problems. While driving, walking I listen to music to try to keep my mind from dwelling on pain. God bless you Jennifer and your music, you improve my quality of life and I thank you.

Yes, my doctors tell me all the time I shouldn't have survived getting hit the first time. All true thou, but is how I became an Engr. Was welder/machinist and after 2nd back surgery told could no longer work. Showed them, life is what you make of it. Being negative gets you no where.
