    Late, Hukato Naga, the chairman and managing director of HN Company, who passed away Queens Medical Centre in UK on October 25 after a brief illness was laid to rest at his residence, the Naga Mansion, at Ikeshe village, Dimapur on Monday. He was 52.
    Thousands of mourners thronged the Naga Mansion to pay their last respects at the Home Going service for the benevolent businessman.
    Described as a diligent political adviser with extensive knowledge on social, economic and cultural sectors, late Hukato since his childhood days had strong ambitions to etch out his name. He had immensely contributed to the society in every possible way through humanitarian and philanthropic works.
    Born on February 18, 1964 to late Nihozhe Awomi and late Vikheli Yepthomi of Aghulito village under Zunheboto district, Hukato was described as an outspoken man who inspired and motivated people around him. Both professionally and spiritually, he became a role model to many especially the younger generation.
    In an extract from an autobiography penned by himself on his 52th birthday on February 18, 2016 at New Delhi, he elaborated his clear vision for infrastructure development in various sectors for socio-economic development of Nagaland as well Northeast India.
    With 30 years of experience in public domain, including business, social, cultural and political fields, Hukato was honoured with Indo-Thai Business Relation Award, Global Indian of the Year Award, Mahatma Gandhi Gaurav Samman, Rajeev Gandhi Shiromani Award and International Achievers Award.
    His associates described him as a man who was selfless as a businessman and had great vision for the Nagas and Nagaland in general. His visits to various countries to bring development in the State proved he had a great vision for Nagaland and Northeast to be at bar with other countries in development.
    Hukato‘s venture into business started with the renowned company ‘The Naga Constructions’ which later expanded to Hukato Naga (HN) Company. His vision for a developed Nagaland continued to be his goal and with that objective he took his son for admission in England where he breathed his last.
    Odisha Governor Dr SC Jamir, Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio, Minister for PHE Tokheho Yepthomi and Nagaland Baptist Church Council paid rich tributes on behalf of the leaders of Nagaland. Nuklutoshi, Minister for National Highways, Mechanical Engineering and Election and Pukhayi Assumi, Parliamentary Secretary for Soil and Water Conservation, paid tribute on behalf of the in-laws while Rev.Tonny, pastor, Maongwati Aier, Kiyehoto Yepthomi and Kim Shi Hwan from South Korea paid tribute as Hokato Naga’s friends.
    Renowned musician Alobo Naga paid an emotional tribute with “Ten thousand reasons” one of Hokato Naga’s favourite songs and the Nagaland Chamber Choir paid homage with “Nearer my God to thee”.
    Late Hukato Naga is survived by his wife Deepika Hukato, son Tissica H Naga and daughter Vivienne H Naga.
