I think that scene was more of a spoof on the 1992 version where the Brides seduced Johnathan, I mean that was the version that really sexed things up.
When I watched this for the first time I was a little disappointed because Jonathan is the one who goes to Dracula’s castle in the book. But I do like how this provides an explanation as to how renfield went crazy. Book and movie are both great when they’re treated as separate entities.
Actually no,Renfield went to the castle as Jonathan’s predecessor,the Count used Renfield for other means,Johnathan as well,but Renfields life was spared to do the Counts bidding,Dracula left Jonathon at his castle when he left for England thinking he would die anyways at the hands of his wives.

I love how slow bats flop around in old movies. In reality, bats fly so quickly, even Hummingbirds are like “Damn did you see that? He’s fast as fuck boi!”
These were real actors who never relied on CGI or other special effects. They were masterful at using facial expressions,hand gestures and bodily movement to create a character or mood. These things could never be duplicated with modern technology
Re-release had a full Phillip Glass soundtrack. The original only had 'Swan Lake' movement at the beginning....the rest of the original film had no music at all.
"The blood is the life". Well, DUH, without blood, you dead. Many years ago, after an accident, broken jaw, all wired up. During the night it cut inside my mouth, I woke up to a blood soaked pillow. Mouth wired shut so I had to keep swallowing blood till I was taken to a hospital to correct it. Eyuk. Not very tasty.
Let's just take a moment to appreciate how those 3 ladies were able to walk backwards and not trip over those incredibly long robes...This wasn't a first take shot.😁
No matter how many special effects they can dream up, NOTHING beats this original Dracula and the great Bela Lugosi. Everyone else are simply wannabees.
I never saw this movie, always thought it was too silly, based on random images and clips of people making fun of it. But this is my second longer clip I see, and I... like it. I will watch this movie.
