      Exactly. As someone having a 24" 1440p 165hz TN monitor, these look a lot more appealing now. The only thing I'm worried about is the subpixel layout and mediocre HDR experience (very few are close to true 1000 nits). If they nail those as well I'm sold.

Second, is it advisable to use Windows HDR calibration? I used it and it worked very well with shadow of the tomb raider in hdr, but when playing tomb raider (2013) in sdr it looked horrible, very yellow, especially the skin, this could be the fault of the nvidia app beta or the configuration of windows 11 hdr? Wait, there coming out with a 480Hz 1440P monitor? (EDIT:) DisplayPort 1.4 only goes up to 355Hz at 1440P. I learned this when I got the ASUS 360Hz IPS monitor and whenever the FPS reached the 360Hz the monitor would go black for a second. I noticed it was a hand shaking issue between my GPU and monitor. Like switch inputs on a TV. Finaly, I did some digging and came across a wiki page explain the DP standard and DP 1.4 can only do 355Hz but DP 2.0 can go much higher. Until they make GPU (on the Nvidia side) DP 2.0 and the monitor DP 2.0 then 480Hz isn't going to work right.

      @@badseedtech Damnit you made jump down a rabbit hole lol but here is what I found on the Wiki page. But, it doesn't come close to the 480Hz at 8 bit and that only gets ya 379Hz with HDMI 2.1b and 10 bit is 315Hz. HDMI is much slower than DP by a lot. Just look up HDMI standards and go to the wiki page and do the same for DisplayPort. Basically HDMII 2.0 will not even come close to the 480Hz. To get the full 480Hz on HDMI you would have to drop it down to 1080P. DP 2.0 at 1440P will get you 516Hz at 10 bit and 609Hz at 8 bit. If you go to the Wiki page, scroll down till you see the chart showing the resolution and Hz and above that in the text will tell you the standards of 1.4 and 2.0 and so on.

    • @badseedtech
      @badseedtech  Před 2 měsíci

      You’re not wrong, but you’re not factoring in DSC. HDMI 2.1 with DSC (2x ratio) will deliver 1440p 10bit at 480hz. DP1.4 with DSC (2.5x ratio) can deliver 1440p 8bit at 480hz.

      @SilverJoystix I want to achieve a superior audio experience with PC gaming. I'm not going to be satisfied with wasting money on an "entry level" pair of IEMs either. I keep reading and seeing over and over again how the Orchestra Lites have a superior sound profile with it comes to gaming so I've narrowed my focus on those....despite my concerns over their questionable comfort which I'm already aware. But I don't see anything else that approaches it's level of performance at the same price point. Although, the Intuaura Splendor 2 might be an alternative. Still, my eyes are on the Orchestra Lites.
