Spear for Norse, a giant mace-like weapon for Aztec or Celtic, dual Kopesh for Egyptian and a fucking Katana for Japanese. My man Týr has walked it all and it's a perfect way to keep you on your toes.
@@kevinkaslana9060 The giant mace/club thing is actually a sword of sorts, it's an Aztec Macuahuitl, the glowing parts along the side of the weapon are actually obsidian blades. Also consider during this fight he uses blood based attacks, and he can absorb the blood of minions to heal.

They made Týr into a multi mythology badass, and I’m so glad they did. Deadass tricked Kratos into therapy and wields 4 different weapons.

I wouldnt say tricked Kratos into therapy, there was no tricks or manipulations. Tyr came to him on his level, god of war to god of war. He just gave Kratos *effective* therapy by finding that common ground, fighting.
FUN FACT: This Theme is longer than this year's Call of Duty Campaign.

granted, i was on the normal difficulty (give me resolve), so idk if he’s like that on harder difficulties.

I love how every Tyr’s weapon choice mirrors Kratos’ arsenal. Dual khopesh for Blades of Chaos, macuahuitl for Leviathan Axe, katana is probably representing Blade of Olympus. And spear represents…Draupnir spear
Seeing how Tyr truly was in this dlc it really shows how much of a mockery Odin made of him and his legacy

Let's not forget that mimir, the advisor and a counsellor was imprisoned ona top of the midgard peak with black breath blocking the only possible way to reach him, he had roots of an invincible tree wrapped around him that not even mjolnir could damage and just for good measure, had his eye ripped out to keep him from travelling.
Meanwhile Týr in a wooden cell with iron bars that can be open simply by pulling them up, Týr wasn't restrained eith anything and wasn't missing any eyes, he definitely made some deal with odin so he would stay passive towards maybe certain races and Týr would sit tight ina cell

Týr just casually catching Kratos' powerful punch WHILE being dazed and kind of beaten down will never not be badass asf. And don't tell me that the punch wasn't that powerful, the ENTIRE ARENA SHOOK from the impact of the punch. And for Týr to just catch it so casually...holy hell. And don't forget that *this Kratos is stronger than young Kratos*, and Týr still sends him on a run for his money (Kratos himself admits that Týr is a formidable opponent even for his own skills).
I can see why Odin was so desperate to get rid of Týr. I can see why he was so beloved all over the Nine Realms.
After you see this real Týr, you realize how truly atrocious and insulting Odin's impersonation was...
we started this journey facing a god of war (Ares) and we finished it facing a god of war (Tyr)... both seemed like polar opposites, but war... war never chang-... oh wait, wrong franchise quote😅

Tyr's closer to Athena in wisdom, even better. As it wad her who set Kratos into his journey of (sonewhat) atonement first and foremost, vengeance later on.. She's also the one who made Kratos an official God. Led him to the same Throne Tyr guards.

I also really like that Tyr’s fights boil down to “Hey Kratos, check out this cool stick I found, care to watch me kick your ass with it?”

It's all fun and games fighting Týr with the Katana until he says "Um-hūxan!"
this theme is perfect for Tyr it sounds enlightened and peaceful but also epic, righteous and formidable
This ost hits like the entirety of Valhalla and their habitants are witnessing this match between gods of war and chant in both of their resolve and determination.
Tyr has become one of my favorite boss fights in the series that isn’t a final boss.

This dude Týr makes a surprise appearance in this DLC that I least expected, handed us over a replayable Boss Fight for two God of Wars to spar against one another over and over for the sake of Kratos’ getting therapy over his title as god of war, while having one of the best themes included in the game now
Tyr theme have tribal-ish sounds, probably we have some reference from music from the others worlds in the music
And it sound heroic, epic, you are not facing some selfish god, not a destroyer, you are facing a true hero, old beloved god of war in a friendly yet serious fight, the perfect final boss for God Of War series, well done Santa Monica
It's the Egyptian version, there is greek, Japanese and Celtics versions that sound different
Its crazy how in EVERY single GOW game they have astonishing music. From GOW 1 all the way to GOW Ragnorak/Valhalla, the franchise has not missed with the score in all of the games!

To be honest as The God Of War From Norse Mythology, Tyr is indeed one of the best Mentor in GOWverse tho and one of the Strongest character too, He and Kratos were basically on Par with each other in each of their "Holding Back" type of a battle 🔥

The way tyr drops back into the fight and this part of the score stars playing is so fitting honestly my favorite theme from the whole game after Valkyries
I'm really glad Tyr got the showcase and time he deserved in Valhalla bro was so underutilized in the main game. And also the fact that his wisdom and experience acting like an experienced god of war comapred to Odin's is fucking amazing.
What i really like from this theme is how perfectly merges what represents tyr (his nordic base plus all the things he learned from his experiences with the other cultures egyptian, japaneese and aztec) with the battle with kratos (his own teme notes) and how both give the feeling of an epic battle between the gods of war, but this time not as a conquest , but as a challenge (this with the happier notes of kratos nordic theme) 😇👍

I swear this theme along with the tyr battle feels like a true god fight, feels like you are facing someone superior to you in many ways, and the fact that tyr is battling but teaching at the same time is really something else

Best therapy music I've ever heard.
What I really like about this theme is how well it translates tyr’s character peaceful, formidable and if needed agressive. Also his fights were always entertaining because you never knew what was gonna happen and this theme sort of constant change with notes portrays that beautifully
First fight in Ragnarok that had me at the edge of my seat. This fight, music, arena, and Týr's quotes made me completely go berserk during this whole battle. Felt like a movie, Santa Monica delivers over the top with every project. Thanks for the upload!

I played every god of war game. In my opinion Tyr is the hardest and most formidable boss of the entire saga. A perfect warrior❤

That spin move with the dual khopeshes always threw me off.
There's something about seeing a 8'5 foot tall Norse God jump into the air and spin with two giant blades with such elegance and agility that really highlighted how formidable he is. It was a little unnerving lol

The fourth and final Tyr fight before the ending was painful, that health bar barely went down with a couple rage punches, I managed to beat it but the amount of concentration that was needed XD
It takes employing several different techniques from the weapon path that you chose in order to defeat Týr. By that point, you've grasped how the Glyphs work and can use various ones to apply to your combat ability, but having a slew of them to affect your entire arsenal is how a true master of Valhalla fights.
Even before the fight, cuz first u dont want to lose health going through Valhalla, then u need the perfect loadout and weapons to maximise damage, defense/health, speed and effectiveness. Took me about 5-10 runs to defeat final stage Tyr

The theme is very epic and the boss fight goddamn the boss fights it is amazing but the last round was very hard. This is my favourite boss fight and also the boss music
I'm grateful for this DLC, getting to know why Tyr is the God of War of Norse Mythology was awesome. Tyr is the greatest rival for Kratos as he's basically his counterpart. I'm curious if we would get to see more content in the future.

Tyr has darkness, flame, destruction and to top it all, he THINKS. unlike thor, tyr knows patterns, how the opponent will attack, how strong will it be, how quick will it be. he clears his mind

This was the boss fight I didn’t know I needed but MY GOD they delivered! Its not a grandiose battle like Thor or Baldur but the combat and challenge is SO GOOD!
Like even when he kicks your ass it feels totally fair! I don’t think I got mad a single time when dying to him.
Its also nice we finally got a proper glimpse of the real Tyr. Finally we can see why this particular god could unite an entire realm and make connections all over the world.

Tyr is not only the Norse god of war, admittedly one of many, he is also the god of wisdom and justice. He's Kratos' exact opposite. And he is exactly what Kratos needed back in Greece but Tyr is also the tool that will let Kratos grow into a role he can be proud of. (Although, I can't get my head wrapped around Tyr's use of necromancy, to my knowledge, only Odin knows those runes and the seidhr with it.)

This was the final battle that the game deserved. I liked Ragnarok well enough, but I found Odin to be a very underwhelming final boss- both mechanically and in presentation.
