Great video again Peter. I just recently found you here on CZcams. Im doing a little bit of the same you are doing.. using broken mobility scooters to make fun cars for (big) kids. In My last build I got rid of all the electronics and used a new 36v controller. The speed is going up by 50% without using bigger wheels. I combination with your gear ratio it would even go faster, since these motors are built really strong. Oh and… I’m a musician too ;)

why do all these modded cart videos require a full chop shop & what seems like a hell of lot fucking about, why can’t you just tear speed controller out & thro a stronger, faster motor in it, a motor simply spins at higher resolution, equal more torque at wheels. i’d love to mod a cart to twice it’s normal speed which would be 25km as i’ve got 1 atm bc of a motor vehicle accident knocked me off my bike 🚴 so insurance hired me of scooter, I JUST wish it would go double it’s speed. it does 10km so even 15km would be great. i can’t understand why you need a full chop shop to modify one of these. ID BUY 1 IF IT WOULD GO 15kms as i just don’t have tools, skills & nouce to mod one.
Why dont you just change the controller? i bought a cheap one on ebay changed it over can go alot faster now. All you did is pointless and way more work then needed

Peter does point out he’s not sure what body he’s putting on it, so maybe it’s the same for the seat. I quite like the look of the plywood sheet reminds me off of a rat bike i saw on the Isle of Man once. Also it’s obviously a work in progress, and i quite like that he points out things that haven’t gone the way he’d like.

thats great, what would you say the ratio is with the chains reduction and bigger wheels compared to original?

If you take a large mobility scooter and put bigger wheels on the back it can go much faster. I've done it and it works fine.
Changing the motor would do nothing. Its the controller you need to change.
