  • Don’t Settle: Dating With Intention & Courting Your Partner
    You can meet in a bar and have an off/on romance then be married 25 years like Anthony & Melanie Clark from season 4 of Black Love or you can meet online and get engaged after 3 years like our friends BreAnna Jones & Devin Chapman. There’s no one way to find your person. Matchmaker Devyn Simone will get these couples talking about what they were looking for, how they were intentional about it, and what courtship looks like after commitment.

    Loveeee what Melanie said about embracing her natural masculine energy. That was her authentic self, and that's what attracted her authentic partner. Not putting on an inauthentic more 'feminine' front, which sadly a lot of coaches teach on YT. Embrace your natural masculine:feminine energy ratio! Heal what needs healing, embrace the rest! SO HERE FOR THIS!

    This whole conversation was just 🔥🔥🔥 I love it and have shared it multiple times. My husband and I met online and did the relationship *our* way. Had to release some family and friends because they wouldn't let me live (so I recommend doing a purge if necessary and don't look back). A year and 2 months later, we were married. Every date and every conversation early on was *super* intentional. And we made the cake *our* way. I had to let go of the "perfect" ideal I had as a single woman. I also had to stop expecting more than I was was giving. I was born & raised church, so I totally understand the stigmas that are attached, but I'm *still* in the church serving because I serve a God who does NOT condemn - church folk do, but God doesn't. And once I let go of what others thought/ wanted/ judged - I was 💯 better in my relationship!! Make sure God knows your heart and that you are true to yourself and you'll be fine.🖤 I love Black Love!!!

    I'm glad Anthony talked about he understood his assignment of his relationship. He can't say anything better. I didn't look at it as her completing me, I can't allow that. I completely understand I must work on me to Complete myself as she also Completes herself, but we working together and thusfar it's worked 30 yrs STRONG. Some Men Gets it, and many will never understand a Woman can't COMPLETE THEM. That's God's doing to complete Man and Woman. We just here to enhance one another in the relationship. 😉

    I felt so bad so Bri that her family made her experience that with being a virgin. I am also a 30 year old virgin, but by my personal choice, not because of family or even from religion, even though it does make me feel better that Christianity holds the same values. So its a completely different experience than her but I would hate for my family to force me to do that & I didn't agree. I also am so hurt she left her religion but I totally understand why from what she said. The guy I fell for and care about stopped talking to me because he thought "all the God & prayers" I did & talked about was doing more harm than good and he stopped believing & hoping in God to change his situation. I know I can't speak for anyone but myself, but THOSE PEOPLE hurt you, not GOD!!! I just wish people could differentiate the two

      @breannajones645 Před 2 lety +9

      Hey Nora! Thanks for your comment. I just wanted to make it clear that my family is absolutely amazing and never made me feel anything other than accepted and loved. What I was trying to communicate (and I realize the way I phrased it was misleading) was that in Christianity, you're taught to save yourself for marriage, and I'm not here to say that that teaching is good or bad, but for me, after losing my virginity, there was a shame that I put on myself because I felt that I was no longer right with God or right for my future husband. I just wanted to clarify that I in no way meant that story as a criticism of my family or even the church. I am very thankful for the way my family raised me.

      Being married means US NOT I, WE NOT ME. You become one so making that kind of decision without talking with your spouse first is a very selfish act. In a marriage that decision affects the entire household as a single person it will only affect you because that person is not accountable to anyone.

    So, instead of continuing with these abstract, vague & illusive dialogues, let’s look at this from a clear & concise manner.
    30% of BM are married to BW.
    54% of BM are single & childless.
    65% of BW are single mothers.
    * 59% by more then one man.
    25% of BW will ever be married.
    And yet, 80% of BW file for divorce.
    Factor in age & weight as they are contributors to geriatric/high-risk pregnancies, or their inability to carry future children to term at all (menopause, too many abortions, etc.). Not to mention, you can be put on child support for just being the only &/or predominant male figure in the child's life.
    So no good deed goes unpunished...
    "In the United States, Women owe the majority of the outstanding $1.7 trillion dollars in student loans. As of 2020, women held almost $929 billion in outstanding student debt."
    And BW owe 22% more in student loan debt than WW.
    Did I mention that 60% of BM are now in the middle class?
    "As for another group, step-fathers, 24% of Black men are stepparents. That makes them the most likely to be stepfathers across all racial groups."
    Do these numbers support a mutually beneficial relationship opportunity?

    • @justmahalia2984
      @justmahalia2984 Před 2 lety +1

      Please sit this one out. Considering this is “black marriages” the common denominator is Black men (not all) but black men. Yes some women decide to lay down with knowingly or unknowingly problematic men but it is the MAN who impregnates her, so that man should keep his beetle juice outside her baby making area bozo. Therefore, keep your dusty logic and one sided statistics off this classy channel. Women in general have reasons as to why they want a divorce. But due to how simple minded you seem to be by spreading this poorly done narrative and forgetting that men are not these perfect people who might have caused issues as well to lead these women wanting a divorce. Everything else you speak of is null in void. Go and crawl up back in that dark corner of the stupidity and rejection, we do not care about your projections and “opinions”.
