I think there is more to the music video metaphorically with the suitcase, its the ''formula'' that he steals, carries throughout and then ultimately tosses at the end. Even the part that he is rapping fast on the horses, the suitcase is center frame almost like he's saying this formula of rapping fast that is mainstream now is just boring and he hates it. Sometimes the fast rap sucks when theres no punchlines or anything clever. Plus, too many white rappers use the rap fast scheme almost as a need to prove that they can actually rap, which can come off corny sometimes. Just my 2 pennies
I feel like people who find Dicky corny, like Fantano for example, don’t understand that it’s kinda the point. He mixes rap with comedy. He doesn’t take himself too seriously, but he’s a damn good rapper and lyricist.
I love Dicky, but this song was awful. Its so monotone, the flow is smooth but it feels so lazy. The bars were a little corny. The performance was great, i think the music was bad.
I dunno - the intro video was all about not being “industry” standard and a clown, but then the song itself is just mumble rap with as many Eminem-like double entendres that he can put in, except their not funny, relevant to the content, or good. It feels like he is saying “I’m different” but he just sounds like a washed up Eminem wannabe again. I miss when rap wasn’t chasing every entendres and went back to telling a vivid story through the rap. Like Old Eminem, PAC, Biggie…etc. The Entendres Eminem jig has felt washed now for YEARS. We need better rap music. This ain’t it.
The songs a testament that he can do this style effortlessly but he chooses not too, and decides to branch out in other directions lol. That’s why he has clown makeup throughout the entire song lmao
