the number one term you should know for casper is TWU and TMDWU
Got no clue. Originally from Saratoga, lived here in Casper for over a decade, literally never heard these.
@@stagalgiz1097 you're better off that way mister, way better off.
TWU
@@alishacollinsrealestate i love you so much for that.
and honestly, the homes you show are absolutely gorgeous.
As a former resident of Casper, relocated 57 years ago, I enjoy your videos. Casper certainly has changed. My only suggestion is eliminate the background music. It's not just your videos but other's also.
As a Casper native, I am a huge believer in there being a specific Wyoming accent. When I lived there, I could sniff out whoever wasn’t from Wyoming within a few seconds in conversation, but I could never pinpoint how I can tell. Then I moved away and realized it was the accent! Very subtle, but once you notice you can’t unhear it. People from WY have very very flat vowels and almost take after the Midwest. We also talk a little bit faster than others.
This accent is very different from Montana accents (they’re very sweet and soft and drawl out. Like they’re chill, they’re not in a hurry to say anything, I love montana accents). Colorado accent is also much slower than a Wyoming one. They’re also a little soft and slow, but in a very different way from Montana. It’s hard to explain, but the Wyoming accent is certainly there!
Is there really a weather controlling warlock in Casper? And also why do y’all say poot poot poot poot in Casper? Thanks.
Poot gang
Casper is awesome l am from Casper
🤣
“Cowpoke” dates to about 1881 and originally referred to the cowboys who prodded cattle onto railroad cars with long poles.
Please and thank you.
My husband grew up in Casper and I never ever noticed his having an accent - he has a non accent accent😁😆
I'm originally from Saratoga, now live in Casper, we call Coyotes, just Yotes in Saratoga. Locals in Casper even understand that I'm talking about Coyotes... Now if you call a Pronghorn a Goat, my Daughter (born in raised in Casper) will call them Antelope. We from Toga also call them Prairie Maggots. Of course this also includes folks from Rawlins, Hanna, Encampment, Riverside, Baggs, Wolcott, Elk Mountain, Laramie. My father in law (born in Midwest, raised in Casper and Sheridan) never heard the term "Prairie Maggot" before me. Now we go Antelope hunting and he spots a herd, laughs and says "look at all them damn Prairie Maggots and not a single Buck in them". Just a thing for newbies.
It depends on your age and if you were born here how you say coyote. I am old and from here so it is called “Kai-oat”.

I appreciate your content as I’m looking to relocate there, but the music is beyond distracting. JS.
I don't know if I am the only person experiencing this but there is NO SOUND from the lady as she speaks. All I hear is music in the background & some static. I have tried to listen to this video several times over the last hour & the problem is still there.
I think she had the vocal track panned all the way left and the music track panned right. If you find a different stereo system or fiddle with your settings it may work.
Back in the 50's and 60's, they were coyotes. Only Californians called them coyotees. In some places in north Idaho and Montana, they just call them, yotes!
Antelope jerky..yum
Popo Agie? Gros Ventre? Expanding out a little further than Casper but if people move there they'll need to know how to say them lol. Oh and do you say it Salt "Creek" or Salt "Crick?"
I think I might have to do a PART 2!
I say Salt. I have lived off old salt creek road since 1975 :)
For pronouncing Wyoming, I always say Wyoming without a G (Wy-O-mun). I'm told I sound like I'm from Texas. Ing is dropped to un. Hun-tun, dri-vun, blow-un, snow-un etc.
If you ask for the main road it doesn’t matter how you pronounce it, you’ll still look like an outsider.
I think people become natives.
@@alishacollinsrealestate After awhile, I think you do!
We say puhtaytuh

Getting a kick out of being schooled on pronunciation from someone who says "Surrey" for Siri
Aren't you sooo nice! Have a GREAT day!
@Alisha Collins it's a good natured tease😘
@@alishacollinsrealestateThese commenters are being mean to you.😢
antelope - prairie goats.
Haha. Yep!
The audio quality sucks!
Thank you. Hope you have a great day!
How do you pronounce LIBERAL or MINORITY? #@&?% OR X#&?$%.
Wyoming needs better housing, it’s all overpriced and mostly old.
Yes because of the downturn in 1980s newer homes did not begin to be built again (for the most part) until the early 2004. Now they are trying to build like crazy
Yep! Overpriced and the local economy can't support it
Agree. Born and raised in Casper. When I was two my parents bought the house they still live in. It’s very close to downtown, in the Big Tree District/Presidential District. Built in 1912. How much was it appraised in 2015? $250k when my parents paid $98k for it in 2002. I know it’s a very desirable area, but a house that’s over 100 years old AND has no central air? Naw.
