- This Dewulf Potato4CE [Force] is the successor to the recently unveiled Dewulf Enduro, this unique and rare harvester (one of only three units) is build in 2004 and is still lifting yearly the potatoes at arable farm Lakwijk Agro in the south west of the Netherlands. Harvesting in this video takes place in very wet conditions and on heavy sea clay, that is why the utmost is asked about the cleaning capacity of the harvester.
Thanks for watching!

That's an impressive piece of equipment. Why were there only 3 ever made? And how did this guy get one? And is it still supported/repairable?
Very limited market for very expensive equipment. So, presumably, they only make a handful every year.
"Is it still supported/repairable?" It appears to be made from commonly available agricultural/industrial component parts... engine, transmission(s), axles, and etc.
The biggest part of the machine is the frame. That would have been custom-built, but should be (relatively) easy to repair, or modify, as needed.
As this is two years later im still gonna respond this machine is the first self propelled 4 row potato harvester made as why theres onlty three made would be doubts and problems that came out the machine wasnt performing to what they wanted, many of the parts from the pull type 2 row variations would be used making it quite easy to get parts for, yes support is still available from dealers and this guy probably bought one new when they brought the idea or first lineup or second hand
They do consistently make 4 row self propelled harvesters today and are very popular
I presume there is a certain amount of soil stuck to the potatoes? Is this replaced in some way either with manure or similar? Over the years it would mean loosing a lot of soil from the field otherwise?? (I know nothing about farming BTW)
Not loosing as much as u think because the machine throws back the soil but still there is a bit stuck yes and no they dont replace it
At the end of the day they usually load up dirt that they collect at the farm, and dump it back in the field. Or by spreading manure/compost a little gets added back.
you would never keep potatoes on the same field over consecutive years anyway as it increases risk of eel worm (i think) or some disease that lives in the soil for years.
@@archie_-zv8xc who said that though?
Think your talking about ‘potato fatigue’
@@gijsvermuntagrifotografie I work for a potato grower. Fairly new to it all but I’m pretty sure I’m correct. Eel worm lives in the soil for upto 6 years and is susceptible to it after 2 years of growing them on one field. I’m talking about the UK so may be different elsewhere. The amount of erosion and nutrient depletion over consecutive years of potatoes wouldn’t do the field much good either!
Challenging conditions for any harvester, heavy loam and wet.It lookedto go fairly well!👍
Goud job my shef
mooie video van deze zeldzame machine

She's certainly a beast 😊
Nice Video :)
А как же студентов на картошку?
pretty wet conditions this year
That's neat. Can't get over the name though, Potato4ce sounds like an edgy reboot of Mr. Potato Head from the 1990s.

*WOW! That's an amazing machine!*
That's a good idea, have the tractor drive down the tramline on the first pass.

This one is not sold anymore. The next generation described in the description is € 450,000
That is mechanical engineering genius! What country was this filmed?
The Netherlands, Southwest quadrant, so... province of Holland?

@@surlyogre1476 Zeeland, I searched the farm on google.
@@jannetteberends8730 Thank you for the clarification. ;-)
Picking nits here, but if this machine (Potato4ce) was built in 2004 and the DeWulf Enduro was only recently introduced... wouldn't that make the Potato4ce the _predecessor_ of the Enduro and the Enduro is the successor of Potato4ce.
I realize English is not your native language.
👍❤️️❤️️
Very wet only 3 machines in world suprise
I take it wet soil makes it so much slower going to sort spuds from clods.
Price tag ? 6-700k ?
👍

Parts for this have to be a joy to source
I wonder if for these machines there is an electric version 🤪
Mooi gedaan hoor.
I hate potatoes in FS19🤣
I wonder why they built only three? Usually it's a case of something being too big.
