Have always loved this song. I just remembered in my 9th grade German class we had to pick a song and write words in German to describe how the music made us feel and what it symbolized. Then we played the song and wrote or said the words we picked. I picked this song and, yes, the class listened to the whole 19 minutes. I was in heaven while all my classmates thought I had the worst taste in music, but it was all good.
Man.... I would've been your newest friend in musical taste that damn day. Dated a chick who studied that language. But she was into Rammstein though.... Honestly before I moved out of my moms, I would periodically play stuff just like this while driving her around town running errands. She would always have the most laughably rude conclusions about what the artist brains were made out of when hearing this stuff. Made her listen to King Crimsons Bible Black once.... Well if it ain't Clapton....it sounds rather mars like to her. Of course its my fault for choosing to play shit that I know is gonna bewilder her. Even my dog feels weird hearing this shit.
Just listened to this again for the first time in ten or more years. Stands up as one of the most epic long prog rock songs ever, from a 'primitive' time early in the history of that genre, in a country not generally associated with it. Deserves to be much better known.
I rarely listen to this album but when I do it's definitely an experience. I remember the first time I listened to this, after it was finished I sat still on my bed in silence for over 5 minutes trying to process what I just heard. I think I started crying, actually.
He is one of my favorite composers of all times and I do not have many favorites..I am devastated by his passing and the death of our culture. This is beautiful...this track and many many others...I have been obsessed with much of his music.
Νο true progressive rock fan should miss this very special album. No other prog album ever sounded like this. It is as unique and important as Larks Tongues In Aspic by King Crimson, or Close To The Edge by Yes.
Very much agree. These guys needed one more album as a full group before quitting. Apparently though this was all Vangelis and the band was already breaking up.
I miss my soulmate right now. Sun is shining as it did when I first listened to this with the only person I’d ever have wanted to spend rest of my life with.
There is a cocktail lounge on the western side of Mykonos, where a perfect margherita and this album on a great pair of headphones at sundown as the sun sinks into the sea are just f**king bliss
Without a doubt....this is my all time favorite track from the entire album, bet I've listened to it about a zillion times since this masterpiece came out :)
gerard mccartney Not sure where your musical tastes are, but I remember going to a church several times that had one of the coolest blues rock bands I've ever heard playing worship music. I was shocked that the older guy leading the group was just playing in church - he should've been famous. Later, I turned around and found him in the seat behind me and I greeted him, giving him words of encouragement to try to encourage him to try for making music for everyone to hear. It turns out that this man was Danny Liston (one of the founding members of the famous 70s band, Mama's Pride).
Just one drawback. I’m listening alone on headphones with only my dog wondering what’s going on. In the past my soulmate and I would have played this together. He’s dead now and I neither know how or why but boy do I miss him
Little bits of last life flash through my mind. Thing's that can never be again. And perhaps never should have been in the first place. But always, the acid was good.
It brings my soul to the deserts seashore in the greek aegean island...the winter nights...the stormy weather...the sea rumbling...a fresh and delicious smell in the air...
3000 mushrooms,crammed into a pot,3000 mushrooms,crammed into a pot...And with just one cup,tripping in 10 seconds,a helluva lot,the most incredible things my mind has ever got!
Vangelis was...is...will be forever a genius...no doubts...and everybody of them...Loukas...Demis...and Anargiros Koulouris...what an amazing guitarist!!!
Soy fanático de lo progresivo sin embargo dado que cuando escuché de Aphrodite´s child era muy niño, no me percaté de lo genial de su propuesta, sino hasta ahora. Y si, hay una mezcla interesante de las bandas que señalas.
Simply impressive. This and Nine feet underground by Caravan are the two instrumental tracks that literally put me in a trance, and I don't even remember how many times I've returned to listen to and be captivated by those tracks. As a request, I'd love to know other musical works that are similar to the aformentioned songs.
Right now I been over two days non-sleep on cocaine. I can assure you all that the last thing I'd like to stare at is a fucking screen... But with this coming straight to my ears, everything it's in the right place.

I've tied down people who have tried to stop this playing at parties.
story of my life xD
Was this back in the day or present time? If back in the day then you have some history to share!
this is the correct response
RIP Vangelis, this is my fav track on this monster double CD.... one of the few CDs i still physically own....
RIP Vangelis.
a psychic-acid trip to a medieval battlefield against satan

Every time I back from Novi Sad to Apatin,in Serbia,in the dark nights,alone...I listen to it...every time a mystic experience!!!
This track is everything. Unbelievable how many times you think it's over, only to realize it's getting better
Prog rock in a nutshell

I encourage you to give Sons of Korah a listen 👍🏻
That ancient hellenic Mediterranean psychedelia
Νο true progressive rock fan should miss this very special album. No other prog album ever sounded like this. It is as unique and important as Larks Tongues In Aspic by King Crimson, or Close To The Edge by Yes.
Oh my. I’m back on track. Glorious music! Couldn’t care less about the rest of the world aslong as they keep touching our souls.x
Music to die to.
RIP Vangelis
I owned this lp in the early 1970's. Awesome piece of Revelation.
Brilliant piece of music.
Very much agree. These guys needed one more album as a full group before quitting. Apparently though this was all Vangelis and the band was already breaking up.
elgrovez13 I agree one more album.
I miss my soulmate right now. Sun is shining as it did when I first listened to this with the only person I’d ever have wanted to spend rest of my life with.
So sorry your loss. Let Jesus Christ be your soulmate for the rest of your life's journeys in this realm. May God bless you my friend.

For me... This is the greatest thing I've ever been REALLY tripped out on. Amazing times are still memories.
Les souvenirs des années 75 le bon vieux temps
A master piece, so experimental and progressive mind blowing
Without a doubt....this is my all time favorite track from the entire album, bet I've listened to it about a zillion times since this masterpiece came out :)
This is one of the best compilation by Vangelis and his old band by far! Mind blowing!
Joakim42 this is not a compilation, it is the last track in the album, next to last actually.
I can feel it in my hands.
The psychedelic grooves on this track are amazing. As good as anything Pink Floyd produced.
Music to listen to while cave diving.
Mind expansion in musical form.
"You wanna stop this? Here, have a valium".
1967 was an awesome year for music!
+Jason Street so was 1972, when this album came out!
+Bobby G
It was actually recorded in 1970 but it got 2 years of release delay due to controversies.
1965 - 1975 was the greatest period for music!
recorded in 1970
All that time ago,I never pictured myself walking around making tea listening to this on headphones coming out of my coat pocket..
If only they played music like this in church....

I love the irony of how this song is on a concept album about satan
No other words. Fucking brilliant.
An amazing LP!
Just one drawback. I’m listening alone on headphones with only my dog wondering what’s going on. In the past my soulmate and I would have played this together. He’s dead now and I neither know how or why but boy do I miss him

i've dropped many an acid tab to this! a great work!
I wonder why you needed acid for this. It's kind of not really nessecary, is it?
At the time of first hearing this when Samurai's first came in,WOW. Life changing.
