This R36 is looking better every time we see it. Well done, your under seal work looks really good. I’m looking forward to more restoration content on this car❤.
Just for peace of mind you should check under the front fenders aswell for any rust spot. From my knowledge there should be 2 sponges which love to absorb water and then start to corrode the fender and the wheel arch.
This is my favorite VW content channel on the entire internet man u deserve wayyyyy more than 192k subs we need to get u to 1m bc ur content is excellent the camera work and the flow of the vids are great!!
Awsome video man!! Just be sure to take some form of wax and spray it inside your panels. You can use Dinitrol ML it's the best, beacuse that rust made it's way from inside out. Now that outter side is protected inner side will start to rust unless it is protected. ML stays "oily" for a long time inside seals and between panels repels water, salt, dirt. Cheers man!!
B6"s were plagued with surface corrosion especially the rear underside. Its wasn't for want of paint either. VAG caught on a few years after production, but tried to keep it quiet. It's a manufacturing fault call "zinc occlusions" it caused a reaction under the paint, once the surface broke then the rust set in. It was also evident on body panels and appeared like spider rust under the paint - and then soon breaking the surface. Dealers always fobbed it off as "mechanical damage" with very few rust problems being covered by warranty (anti-perforation and all that malarkey). What a load of balls🤷♂️.
most professionally looking unprofessional job i've ever seen. don't know if you're a mechanic, but whether you're or you're not, you've got some skill my guy 😂 love the content brother, keep it coming. i'm really hoping we can see an r30/r33 build down the line on this thing. the vr platform is so badly covered on youtube, almost no one is doing such style of video on it!
Well this vid triggered my PSTD. One winter I decided to renew all the rear bushes on my 1986 190E 2.3-16. A couple hundred quid's worth of arms and balljoints. Dropped the rear subframe off and then fell down the rabbit hole - diff rebuild, subframe refurb, new hubs/brakes/bearings/halfshafts/pipes/cables.... and totally stripped and resealed the floorpan from the arches backwards. Was under that damn thing for months and I stopped counting the cost at £4000 🤣
I’m doing the same thing with my e46. So satisfying when you get that primer on! Bit late now but a wire knot wheel on a grinder makes super light work of the rust. Great vid!
If you could get hold of some prepsol it would've helped quite a bit. eats through grime, oil everything except for paint. super satisfying to watch though.
Well done Hamza. Very impressive job on the underside of the R36. Well done on the top quality of the content and vids. I’m really enjoying all of the content. Regards from South Africa
Great works as always, it’s really good to see this step by step as it’s giving me inspiration to tackle my own car! Look forward to seeing the next instalment!
Great video brother, but you should have used engine degreaser, works a treat ❤ however it come out good regardless, why not get 2 cans made up of the original blue and do the wheel arches?
Well done. I did the same job on my Octavia combi. The cars look much the same in everyway. Anyway I got rid of all the rust possible using detox gel from bilt hammer. I then painted it with zinc primer from bilt hammer and then Jotun 87 epoxy. Very durable boat/ship paint. Then topped it off with the stone chip paint. I found the spot welds under the seam sealer were rusty. But it's too late for your car. The only thing I'd change is using Jotun aluminium paint as it is extra rust resistant paint. And not bother with zinc. Sand blasting the rust would be the best thing to have done. I couldn't do all that work and just use jenolite. But I'm keeping my car for years and years. Looking forward to the rebuild.
Also that mask isn't going to be much use to extended exposure to the isocyantes within that bed liner. Get some ventilation or an air fed mask if you are working in confined spaces with it. Occupational asthma is no fun.
Certainly looks good. However, after a fair few decades of working on such things then I can gaurantee the rust will contine underneath that Raptor coating. This rust converters just don't penetrate all the way through the rust so although you may have an inert layer on top what lies underneath will still be good old rust. Best to use a rust/paint strip disc, as far quicker and better than a wire wheel, and then use a two part epoxy chassis/industrial paint before then top coating with the Raptor. It'll probably look good for a fair few years but it'll eventually bubble up under the Raptor.
Much better result if you use an angle grinder with some hard wire brush attachments. It really speeds the process and you are able to remove almost 100% of the accesible rust.
Looks good definitely a satisfying job to do, the only thing I’d suggest is getting some cavity wax in all those openings to stop the rust coming through from the inside
Bro, just found your channel. Thank you for these very well made videos. After watching the R36 stuff, I now want to go and binge watch all your old vids. Keep going with projects like this, I expect this channel to blow up! Excited for the next episode.
Hate to say it but that's going to come straight back. I've dealt with rust enough to times to know that you haven't taken it back enough and it will bubble back through. That needed blasting with garnet or at the very least treating with bilt hamber deox gel first.
Před rokem
it is pain, but this is not enough to stop rust, everywhere where is metal over metal spot welded, there will still be rust under it, and it will start rusting from that place and even faster when closed by paint, only way to fix permanently is to cut and weld new piece every piece that is rusted
Congrats friend. You work smart for sure and im pretty sure it was intimidating at the beginning, very good jobi. It look mint and people who never do that kind of resto can't imagine how the labor involved in the work we do on those car !
Good job, the few missed bits rust won't be poking through in the next 10 years. There are some 3M flapper discs available that will rip off the rust much faster than the wire brushes, check them out for the next time, will halve the cleaning time.
Amazing work on the r36 It’s very satisfying seeing you take so much care and hard work to restore the old girl Will look superb:) looking forward to the next r36 episode Vdub:)
Happy to see you go the extra bit and make everything look nice. I've used the full sized raptor kits and it's my favorite for bedliners or underbodies for sure. Looking good!
Learning a lot with this R36 project - some shiny parts arrive next video! Also make sure to check out CAR VERTICAL using my code "TRH" to save yourself 10%! www.carvertical.com/gb/landing/v3?b=1e4c9523&a=Hamza&voucher=trh
Great content bro! The new format of doing longer projects is great….defo worth the slightly longer wait between uploads. Great stuff mate, keep up the solid work, hope all is well otherwise 👍

Thank you 😁
Well impressed with the work you're putting into this! Definitely preserved it for a long time to come.
Love the fact you went through the trouble to clean and remove all the rust. Kudos to such great work!
Just for peace of mind you should check under the front fenders aswell for any rust spot. From my knowledge there should be 2 sponges which love to absorb water and then start to corrode the fender and the wheel arch.
These uploads Hamza. Hands on & educational 🤌🏼😎
Thank you mate - learning a lot myself too making these so glad I can share it with others 👌🏼
Hamza you are a high quality worker you will make every car guy sleep good at night. Keep up the hard work .
Enjoy all the other builds. But fast wagons just hit different. Really enjoying this series mate.

Am I the only one who gets sad when de video is ending?🥲
Knowing that you’ll see the next one after 6 weeks?🙂🥲you’re not the only one my friends

Thank you mate, appreciated 👌🏼
For someone who's never done it that is a very tidy job Hamza, I plan to do this at some point too, good job!
Thank you!

Thank you brother 😂 Yeah id love to do a VRT build at some point, whether it’s on it this or something else

Glad I’m subscribed to someone who takes as much care underneath the car than what is visual to the eye everyday respect g👌🏻
You done a good job on that DIY. Always better when u don't have to deal with no one but yourself it's all about the learning curve brother 👌🏽
Agreed, can’t beat learning in your own time 👌🏼
Lovely job, hope to see it stage 3 with 1000 hp one day it gone be the rarest car ever .. 💜
Smashed it Masha’Allah! 🙌🏼
Keep up the hard work my brotha! 👏
Thank you brother 🙏🏼
I’m doing the same thing with my e46. So satisfying when you get that primer on! Bit late now but a wire knot wheel on a grinder makes super light work of the rust. Great vid!
This is the best, been waiting so long for some one to work on this car.... can't wait to get mine out of retirement
If you could get hold of some prepsol it would've helped quite a bit. eats through grime, oil everything except for paint. super satisfying to watch though.
Hamza went from amateur to pro, reeeel quick. Respect brother 👌🏽
Well done Hamza. Very impressive job on the underside of the R36. Well done on the top quality of the content and vids. I’m really enjoying all of the content. Regards from South Africa
Absolutely loving the videos on this R36.
What a cracking job with the rust looks spot on!

You should do more videos Hamza we love your content 😊
Awesome job on this mate!! Love watching you show this R36 some well-needed/deserved TLC. Can't wait for the end result!
Also that mask isn't going to be much use to extended exposure to the isocyantes within that bed liner. Get some ventilation or an air fed mask if you are working in confined spaces with it. Occupational asthma is no fun.
I’ve got a b6 (2.0tdi thou 😢) think this is a common problem on the rear. My could do with being done. You’re done a cracking job there!!!!
Bilt Hamber Deox gel would help massively with some of this, along with Hydrate 80 and then electrox and their Epoxy mastic

Looks fantastic mate, great job. I’ve got an r36 in Aus, very cool seeing what you’re doing
Thank you for saving this Legendary R36, brilliant work. I am looking forward to your future vids brother. Hello from Canada!
Much better result if you use an angle grinder with some hard wire brush attachments. It really speeds the process and you are able to remove almost 100% of the accesible rust.
You never miss Hamza💪
Thanks man! 👌🏼
Keep going. It will be so good to see a restoration from beginning to end.

Awesome work man, looks epic well done!
Excellent job mate. Really enjoy seeing your projects coming on. Roll on 200k subs
You can use colar abrisive disc for rust 😊 9:10

You've saved yourself loads of time by doing it now before it gets any worse, nice work👌
Raptor liner is very good. A cheaper way is to use raptor liner (bottles) with a paint roller. Lays nice and thick. Great job mate. Looks mint.
Very nice 👍
You can add cavity wax
In all the small holes in the undrbody it will help
The rust in the places you cen't reach 👌
You can now choose to clear coat over this and re ad wax and really seal up this great deal.
Good job, the few missed bits rust won't be poking through in the next 10 years. There are some 3M flapper discs available that will rip off the rust much faster than the wire brushes, check them out for the next time, will halve the cleaning time.
Amazing work on the r36
It’s very satisfying seeing you take so much care and hard work to restore the old girl
Will look superb:) looking forward to the next r36 episode Vdub:)
using that raptor paint is a huge difference. but i would have opted for the non spraycan version....
Great tip there using the TFR... Came out nice :-)
Happy to see you go the extra bit and make everything look nice. I've used the full sized raptor kits and it's my favorite for bedliners or underbodies for sure. Looking good!
This is beginning to look beautiful, can’t wait to see it finished
Great job under sealing looks good
9:00 better to use angle grinder with wire wheels. MUCH faster and better results!
Loving the progress on the build
Nice 1 mate, love the projects you have on at the mo, just need more vids 😂
Great video mate! Love this series and your channel. Whenever I see you have uploaded a video, I watch it straight away
This is coming along really well bro, loving this series of the r36😀🙌🙌🔥🔥🔥
Sick update! Looks great under there now man. Good luck with the rest of it brother
Get some bilt hamber surfex hd next time. It would do that clean in one pass and it has rust inhibitors
Dude please get a compressor and some spray guns/air tools.
A 60 grit on little DA would've been so much quicker than the drill.😊
Been watching from day one, always top tier content. Upload frequency is questionable.. lol
Great work! Enjoying the series very much!
Really enjoying your work Hamza, great to see you restore and upgrade perfectly good cars. Makes me want to keep and upgrade my S4 Avant 👍
That looks great and thank you for being very descriptive about the process.. Love it
Looks really decent. You’ve done a good job there. Looks professional imo

Rewarding like you say Nice job Hamza 👏
Great work on a tough job - super satisfying and that finish does look nice!
Great content bro! The new format of doing longer projects is great….defo worth the slightly longer wait between uploads. Great stuff mate, keep up the solid work, hope all is well otherwise 👍
