In as much as I learnt a lot from their conversation, I disagree with saying "modernization is westernized". Is like saying we cannot have a modern African design which isn't true. We can have African designs rooted in African culture & yet modern. The only thing that is affecting that is our lack of imagination & creativity.
This is another perspective that merits attention as well. Lovely!
@@user-hy1wt1rx2f I agree. One of the commentators had this stance, but was immediately refuted by other commentators. Modernization doesn’t have to be westernized and it can be seen in the lady’s (Ada) illustration of using Ankara materials from African origin to sew trousers. It this context, trousers are not necessary a westernized idea but only a matter of functionality.
