Neither North nor South Cypriots are not as rich as Koreans. Turkish soldiers were with South Korea like Greece with NATO indeed. It is a comparison between apple and grape.

      @KoivuTheHab There is not country in the nothern part of Cyprus.. Because turkey illegally invaded Cyprus. Killed and raped. And now has illegally 40 000 troops on that side. The houses that their people are living in are Greek-cypriots homes who probably were killed or fled to the south. Imagine a stranger living in your house. How would you feel?

    • @emiliospowerballer1441
      @emiliospowerballer1441 Před 4 lety

      @KoivuTheHab its an illegally occupied independent state, irrelevant to turkey, its just ONLY turkey recognizes it as 'independent' . its an occupied area taken by force from the turkish invasion. and no its not a country as much as you would like to believe it is. tbh honest though, cypriots often show their ignorance because they dont realize that during that period of time (74) greece was controlled by the military, and tried to overthrow makarios, which as a result ended with turkey invading the island in 1974. worse, makarios was sending away greek miltary forces from cyprus and although at that time looked reasonable because of what was happening to greece, hadnt he let them go, turkey WOULDNT be able to take the island, i guarantee you that. as a matter fact, the land occupied in northern cyprus is mostly nothing, no mountains and very few cities, so it didnt take a long time occupying that space. people who experienced the war will tell you that the turkish army was so bad at war, uk forces had to help them out and their ariplane strikes couldnt hit targets. the ONLY reason cyprus is occupied today is because we were not ready for a war, although we should have been. if we knew about the war coming, we would have been able to delay them in our northern coast long enough until greece intervened. but there was betrayal from within. dont get me wrong though. i have met tons of turkish cypriots and we are by blood related. i respect them, they live among us in the southern part, and i dream of a time where turkish cypriots and greek cypriots can live together in peace. turkish cypriots want the same thing as us, unfortunately some greek cypriots are fanatics and trully dumb individuals, they are part of the reason why this conflict was possible in the first place.

    • @emiliospowerballer1441
      @emiliospowerballer1441 Před 4 lety

      @KoivuTheHab first of all. mesaoria is the area with almost zero elevation and its about the space turkish forces managed to invade. the northern part is MUCH less populated than southern. You tell me, what country had it the easiest supplying ships, turkey, 30 kms north of cyprus or greece, 1000 kms far away from cyprus, it was impossible in the first place. it wasnt worth risking. as for the uk part, enough witnesses are alive today to prove this statement including my father and his companions in war. and no, we could not see A TURKISH INVASION coming when we were so blind looking to unite with greece along with a civil war going on. the military of greece its self was more than capable of stopping the invasion. we had a very weak eldyk strength during that period of time, but it proved to be enough not letting the invasion taking more. we even have enough witnesses to prove turkush military coulnt even go past certain villages. there was a betrayal from within and by the time turkish troops arrived, we didnt really know. turkish and greek military are equally strong, the distance they had to cover was so huge, it wasnt worth the effort. abd btw, greek forces are not 'foreign forces'. makarios wanted cyprus to stand alone, others disagreed. if anything, grivas digenis wanted to unite cyprus with greece but failed. enough witnesses alive today all claim the same thing, only if cyprus was ready for such a war. cypriots were told to leave famagusta and focus in protecting nicosia, which is why famagusta is a ghost country today. yes they did tried to asssinate makrios in an attempt to overthrow him, after all cyprus ever since its independence wanted to be a part of greece 'thank god we arent today'. and so was turkeys purpose to annex the island, all they needed was a stupid reason. eoka b btw WAS NOT a terrorist organization, translate to see your self what it means. eoka b wanted cyprus and greece to unite, doesnt sound liek a terrorist organization to me, after all, thats what cypriots wanted at that time. during 1974, we had around a 30 000 army strong from eldyk while a lot of them started leaing, when many cypriots didnt support. makarios borught a lot of conflict, even in the ealy days, he was a bishop, but certainly no leader. the timeline is not what concerns me, its the betrayal from within that concerns me, but unlike others, i dont hate anybody, cypriots also blame for this just as much as the greeks and turks. if only we knew back then about the turkish invasion, civil war didnt help much, but things would be different today. turkish cypriots suffered as much as greek cypriots, it was the politically extreme who were responsible for this
