    Thank you Geek Street, I had been trying for 2 hours to get my lights to work, (living room, 2 places, 3 bulbs in each), and it wasn't until I saw this, I figured, they should be done one at a time.

    These look to be better than other GU 10's, in fact operation looks awesome. Such a shame they won't fit all existing fittings.

      Yeah they are really good, it would have been good if they were RGB.

    if you switch off/on the lights with the wall switch, does the lamp stay in the previous setting? for example i change the color to blue, use the wall switch to switch off the lamp and switch it on again, does it stay on blue? thanks

    I wonder if you can have this on a timed schedule where at 1700 they can be 100% at cool white and at 2200 they can be 30% at warm white?

    Great tutorial and advice. Do you know if it works with Samsung Smarthings. The grouping function is very impressive.

      Thanks for the comment much appreciated, no this won't work with smart things. They require no hub and connect straight to your WiFi.

    How low can this bulb be dimmed - great review :)

    Hello, once the LED’s were in a group were they still able to be controlled separately (ie. ok google, turn GROUP on - Ok google, reduce brightness on LED 2 to 30%) or does this function expire once a group has been made?

    • @GeekStreet
      @GeekStreet  Před 5 lety

      Thanks for the comment, after the group has been created you can still control the bulbs individually. Hope that helps!

    I have a push button dimmer on the wall. So I understand that they can't be dimmed from the wall. But when I use the wall switch to switch them off, when they are turned back on, will they remember the last settings or go to a default brightness/colour temp? Thanks.

    • @GeekStreet
      @GeekStreet  Před 4 lety +1

      That's correct you can't dim from the wall switch you should change the switch to a normal on / off switch if possible. And yes it will remember the last setting.

  • @d-one-and-only
    @d-one-and-only Před 5 lety

    so if this can bulb can be dimmed remotely does it require a seperate dimmer unit as is the case with the normal bulbs? Also can you control a group using Google Home (if you grouped them in smart life)?

    • @GeekStreet
      @GeekStreet  Před 5 lety

      No your switch should be a normal switch and no separate dimmer unit required. You can't control the group created in smart life using Google home but you can place them in a room in Google home and that will group them then you can control as a group. I'm actually working on a video at the moment showing all this functionality. So stay tuned to see it in action.

    Hi Geek Street. Can I install a normal dimmer switch on the wall that you turn left or right to dim and would it work with this?

    • @GeekStreet

      The dimmer option is only available via the app. Hope that helps.

    • @GeekStreet

    Can these also be switched on/off from the wall switch as well as the app - ie my wife is not into tech and prefers to do things the old fashioned way via wall light switch. if not is it better to use smart light switches with standard dimmable led bulbs?

    • @GeekStreet
      @GeekStreet  Před 5 lety

      Yes you can switch off from the switch but obviously you won't be able to control again until you switch back on. What are you trying to achieve? Is it just remote connectivity? Then I'd say get the smart switch, but if you want the bulbs to be on different brightness levels in the room then go for this option.

    • @paulbedi9317
      @paulbedi9317 Před 5 lety

      Geek Street the lights are for a living room that doubles as a home theatre and my aim is to set up various scenes With other mood lights and control then via either voice command or/and the app. As mentioned earlier, my wife is not an adopter of tech and will only want to use the existing switch to power on and off. I am currently using Sonoff TH16 to control 3 electric wardrobe heater, with on/off triggered via the thermostat monitor, and various smart plugs controlling appliances such as bed Lights etc which are preset with timer and scenes and do not need to be changed and therefore require no input from my wife.
      I take it that, if these lights are switched off at the wall switch, I will need to turn them on again before being able to use them with the app or voice commands?

    • @GeekStreet
      @GeekStreet  Před 5 lety

      @@paulbedi9317 ah ok. Yes so if your wife turns off the switch you won't me able to control. So really you need a combination of both GU10's and the the WiFi light switch for the best setup.
