- Manila - Makalipas ang 74 na taon muli nating masisilayan ang "La Madre Filipina" na i-dinesenyo ng tanyag na Filipino architect na si Juan Arellano. Ang La Madre Filipina ay binubuo ng 4 na statue sa paanan ng tulay ng Jones Bridge. Ito ay nasira noong ikalawang digmaang pandaigdig at hindi na muling naitayo pa. Ngayon ay sinisimulan na ang konstruksyon nito.

Dyoskolord...i cannot even find the words to describe this people..kindly review the architectural history of Manila to have a full understanding of what isko is doing....the city of dresden waited half a century to rebuild the Frauenkirsche Church and carefully collected the stones and preserved them until the time they can afford to have it rebuilt instead of STUPIDLY constructing a modern structure in its place. Same with the city of Warsaw. This should have been done to manila after the war instead of buldozing everything that can still be restored. SAMPLE: The recolletos.church in intramuros. The.Germans and Poles have a sense of history and take pride in their centuries old.cities. Isko combined the design of.the old Bridge of.spain and the neoclasical american jones bridge to achieve harmony and restore.the hustorical intramuros.and chinatown landscape and was not STUPID enough to follow the architectural blandness and watery brains of his predecessors. To say it bluntly he was inteligent enough to apply what architectural experts say historical adaptation. The Berlin city Palace was.rebuilt out of.scratch with a baroque exterior and a modern interior. Hope this adds an iota of inteligence in our heads.

Great first step towards rebuilding Manila's image. Kailangan ito para makaakit ng mga foreigners.
This is very commendable start of the restoration of prewar Manila. Manila should follow the restoration of the entire city of Warsaw. Hopefully, the prewar Intramuros should also be restored to showcase its original beauty. The commercial buildings and schools should be advised to vacate the historic sites and relocate to more appropriate locations. They have done a great disservice to the history and heritage of the nation.

It is doable in terms of engineering constructability but the cost of burying electric cables is 10x than overhead construction. A national law is needed to force the electric companies to do this . Without this law, electric companies will always choose the overhead installation because it is cheaper. It is all about ECONOMICS.
Bakit sa Japan? Overhead naman. Pero maayos tingnan. Pano kasi sa atin, kahit mga dead cable wires na hindi na kailangan, nandyan pa rin. Hindi inaayos, hindi nililinis.
