My dog's first camping trip! | Camping in the Tankwa

- I decided to take my dog, Captain, on his first camping trip!
I was heading into the Tankwa to recce a route for an upcoming tour and decided to make a trip out of it. What better way than to take your pet along with you. Without hesitation, he jumped into the bakkie and off we went. We were heading into the Tankwa and unlike travelling with humans, we had to make a few extra pit stops for Captain to stretch his legs.
We soon hit the dirt road and entered the Tankwa. The Tankwa was dry and windy, but empty, so the drive to the Tankwa Padstal was easygoing. The Tankwa Padstal is closed on Wednesdays, so unfortunately, I couldn't make my regular pitstop. This wasn't the end of the world as my campsite for the night was just around the corner. It wasn't long until I reached my campsite, good Ol' Camp 360. This campsite is situated about 10km behind the padstal run by Wessel.
I had a brief chat with Wessel and as we arrived at the campsite we were greeted by a large dust devil which swept through the camp. Regardless, we unpacked the Hilux and made ourselves at home. Captain enjoyed the fresh air, but stayed by my side constantly. The wind settled and we had a very peaceful night. I was worried about how Captain would handle sleeping in the tent, but it went down much better than I expected. He slept right through the night with no worries or issues. The next morning we packed up camp and headed out the Tankwa in one shot.
All in all, the adventure went really well and I do think Captain really enjoyed the camping trip. This means he will have to join on many more trips to come!
