WHY IS THIS GIRL NOT A STAR!!!!!
Interesting to note that in the original Ann Miller version, once Ann starts dancing, there are only TWO camera cuts (with the first cut occurring well over halfway through). Amazing that such an intricate dance was completed in practically one take.
Oh my god !!! ... i am falling in love !!! ... Melinda what a great tribute to Ann Miller
Beautiful woman....Spectacular Dancing !!!!! Ann Miller is Smiling Down on you !!!!!!!!!
Absolutely great! Thank you!
Thank you so much for such a spectacular performance and for showing us there still is class out there in performing arts. What a fantastic revival of one of the most famous MGM musical numbers ever made. Miss Miller, I'm sure, must be smiling over you.
Melinda is a fantastic dancer and this tribute can only be described as awesome. I was also impressed with the band which turns out to be a high school jazz band! Very solid entertainment!
This is a wonderful tribute to Ann Miller! You are excellent! Just love it!
That was great! Such fun to see that people still know how to tap. I liked it as much as Ann Miller's legendary performance.
Can't honestly believe that anyone could downvote or talk trash about Melinda's rendition. It's her own take on Ann Miller's classic and she does her own thing with it. She's super gorgeous, super sexy and super talented.
No she is not, she lacks talent, she also lacks originality & connection, she looks programmed.
Heavens to Murgatroid ! Love this video ! Wonderful in every way ! Melinda and the team all do a knock out job ! Hard so sit still watching this lovely lady ! THANKS so much for sharing with us ! You've MADE my day & my week ! CHEERS, all ! :-)
I can't like this enough!!!
Melinda, why in the world aren't you on Broadway. You got the talent, dance, voice and looks.
IF I was a Broadway producer doing a musical, I would beg you to be in my show.
She is not a main billing performer she is a back up dancer.
Oh, my...how extraordinary! Melinda is a great singer, an amazing dancer, and is indescribably beautiful. She reminds me of the bygone age of Hollywood when stars actually had talent and could act, sing, dance, and more. Melinda reminds me of the talented and drop-dead-gorgeous Ava Gardner.
Ann Miller in "Easter Parade"
TENGO LA PELICULA, FRED ASTAIRE Y JUDY GARLAND, 🇺🇾
Incredible stereophonic rendering and all Hollywood STAGE at the rendez vous! Thanks to Doris Day! What a VOICE and a great no way orchestra! MERCI BEAUCOUP for this outstanding shorty musical in wide screen and wide free professional creation! An incomparable incontournable MUST see and watch! Emmanuel from PARIS FRANCE
Excellent Melinda! I am a big Ann Miller fan and much enjoyed your video of Eater Parade's Shakin the Blues Away.
Love at first sight! What a stunner !
contemporary retro. gotta love it.
Excellent production and demo reel. Saw Melinda tap dancing on PMJ and was pretty amazed. She almost outshone the main vocalist.
Awesome tribute to Ann Miller! You move just like her in those heels! So light yet so powerful. If I'm not mistaken she idolized Eleanor Powell. You should try an Eleanor number. They were far more cinematic back in the day but her technique was more pronounced and slower. Ann liked to do everything in double-time.
Absolutely beautiful and amazing, Melinda!!
Marge
What a fabulous rendition!! I absolutely love it!
Wow. Great job, Great Legs, Great shots, perfectly executed, super outfit, terrific homage to Ann Miller and the song, etc!~
Class/style.
Absolutely mesmerising.
You're fantastic Melinda!!!
I needed this today so badly. Just delightful
Would love to see you do Too Darned Hot. Love your performance.
Girl, you SMASHED IT!!! 😍😍
Not true, she is okay but not great just okay. She lacks the talent, charisma, agility a true entertainers have.
@@maya8443QUE AMARGADA!!!
maravilhoso! linda melinda!
That is so awesome and so cute.
Awesome.
Bravo!!
I LOVE this video, and it re-introduced me to an Irving Berlin tune. I LOVE the performance, and was STUNNED to find out that this was a HIGH SCHOOL BAND. EXCELLENT work, by you, the arranger, the band, their teacher, and the crew.
My only knock? The kids in the band should have been listed individually, by instrument. Things like this can open doors for aspiring artists, later on, if they could point to something like this as some practical experience.
That's so impressive!
Spectacular
A bewitching combination of elegance and style - good old broadway hoofing at its VERY best!
Beautiful
Wow, this is quite an impressive production! And, a great-looking and talented lady.
Excellent :)
Fabulous
you are an old soul and you exude the elegance and indomitable femininity of old hollywood glamour, in dance and life. I adore this video! Congrats on everything! Love ya...lexie
This is awesome Melinda, great job =]
That was surprisingly good! Got any more?
You & Sarah need to do a world Tour!
want to do this song for my audition, do you know where to find the instrumental/karaoke version?
Absolute magic. I thought this sort of class and style had vanished.
Magic?? Are you a witch or something???
You are amazing. ;))
This video is another fantastic collaboration of an incredibly talented and creative partnership. Melinda, you keep outdoing yourself, inspiring and entertaining, thoroughly enjoyable.. work it!
Really brilliant! Can't wait to see what comes next!! Thank you!! love you!
Enjoyed but no one can do Ann Miller like Ann Miller !!
Holy s**t girl! This rocks.
If you like this, you definitely would love the original number with lady Miller, she was thousand times better.
@@maya8443 the f*** is your problem?
This captures that old hollywood feeling. It isn't all the way there, though.
Could you recreate putting on the ritz or singing in the rain with the same outfits as the originals
Melinda is coming to Stockholm Tap Festival 2013! March 28th - April 2nd
MY FAV COLOR;_) OLD SCHOOL RETRO TRIBUTE:)
великолепно
Amazing!!! But why no mention of Anne Miller? ( Original choreography based on Anne Miller's Shaking the Blues away etc.??) Just curious!!! Fantastic Execution!!!!
@reallyfastfeet1 It's in the description. ^
Excellent! And bravo for the courage to put your performance up against the incredible original by Ann Miller and the inevitable comparisons.

Can you make a tutoriallll 😃😃
A tutorial of what?
There's something I don't understand: Why are your collaborations with Postmodern Jukebox limited to dancing? If Ada Pasternak can play the violin and sing with them, you should be able to tap and sing with PMJ.
meow very nice
It's ok
With the success of La La Land last year I hope Hollywood taps into hitherto unexplored genres and eras for that Old School vibe like this....
*Pun unintended
HAHAHAHAHA this is so goofy!

Rest In Peace Ann Miller
(April 12, 1923 - January 22, 2004)
she's good but she's no Ann Miller
Melinda Sullivan That's Wonderful for tap dance and Sing, that's for Ann Miller but unfortunately she Passed away and I'm so sorry but well done Melinda Sullivan
Ann Miller crying in the grave now. Help.
She didn't do justice to the beautiful. Ann Miller number.
Ann Miller is probably digging her nails into the coffin as she tries to dig herself out of the grave to tell this wench to stop imitating her.
The voice and dance is too Technical. Ann was one of a kind. She too self conscious to pull off this number.
I'd tap that
Ann Miller was a true talent, she performed this number on Easter Parade and was breathtaking, Ann was unique in many ways. Although this is a nice rendition to Ann's number nothing will be good enough or even remotely close to lady Miller's dancing. This girl doesn't have that energy, passion and/or charisma that lady Miller had. This girl lacks something and I can't put my finger on it but she seems boring.
timing is off compared to Ann's performance, sorry
Agree, lady Miller was extraordinary nobody will ever top the way she danced, ever.
Ann Miller is probably pounding on her coffin...get me out of here and let me at that bitch! How dare she imitate me? I said let me out of here!
While I agree with you that attribution should have been noted in the text above, I have compared this video to the original Anne Miller clip and Melinda Sullivan is a more talented dancer and her routine better executed than the original. Since imitation is the highest form of flattery, I suggest that one should applaud the degree of personal excellence that Melinda Sullivan has achieved at such a young age.
- you must be fucking crazy how this could be better than Ann Miller, you wish Melinda doesn't have what lady Miller had, period.
I don’t really care for this rendition. The tempo feels rushed. There is, also, a lack of a smooth flow between the various movements. The original steps have a different feel than the new steps. The camera work was too busy and made certain parts get missed in favor of unnecessary closeups. The talent is there, but the execution could have been better.
very 1940s age style loving.....basically modern day ginger rogers mixed with a judy garland voice
Almost as good as Doris Day
It's a no for me
