  • I've played over 4000 gigs and taught over 30,000 private lessons since 2004. I support a wife and 7 kids with just my guitar.
How is that possible? Well, obviously I'm not famous. The secret is versatility and command of the instrument. Let me show you the 'other' side of Pro Guitar that you probably aren't familiar with!

Very similar path to myself, only I 'only' have five kids. I'm not even that good, honestly, but I live on an island with a very fluid population due to tourism and seasonal workers and have eeked out a living mainly by being reliable and solid, not drinking or anything, having a huge range of covers and originals, a fairly useful, polyphonic solo acoustic style, having good enough theory to be able to slot into bands from scratch and being confident and good with crowds. Same path, gigging, teaching, incidental and library music and the occasional session recording.
It hasn't been a 'good' living, but I've enjoyed it and my kids haven't gone short of anything necessary.

Best comment in the video "It's not about you". Until you realize that you'll never be "happy " in your situation. If everyone in the group has that mentality ther's no drama in the band either. ( we all know that's rare anyway) Having just discovered you recently, I really enjoy your method of teaching. You mentioned skype lessons. I would really like to discuss that avenue further. After 50 plus years of playing I've got some bad habits I still need to adress. I'll email you . Thanks again for the great videos.

Thanks for the video! As the topic is income from guitar, do you have an affiliate link for the books you recommended?
