Boca del Mar is pretty nice and economical. I've stayed there 4 different times. Right near the beach too. I like the Pelicano Beach Club Restaurant
My wife is Dominican, we always stay at whala boca chica when I go there

Well done video Paul. Too bad Boca can't get its act together and clean the city up and fix the roads and sidewalks. Being so close to the airport, they are wasting the opportunity. Thousands flying into SDQ and driving 4 hours to the North Coast because its clean.
Hey Paul, I'm going to Boca Chica for the first time next week. I don't speak Spanish. Should I have a companion who speaks Spanish or can I survive on my own with a translator. I'm only staying two days before going to Puerto Plata.
In Boca Chica there are quite a few westerners speaking English. I don't think it will be a problem for only 2 days. Same in Puerto Plata, however almost all the locals in those areas will not speak English. I met a rich guy in Las Terrenas who had a guide/translator with him all the time. It was'nt cheap.
@@pddembowski I'm a veteran of Sosua, however I met a decent girl there who lives in Boca Chica and she said that she'll spend time with me throughout my stay and money is not an object. However, she said girls do have their needs. By the way, she's Haitian and I have always had a better experience with them compared to the Dominican girls.

1300 pesos to go to Este?? Uber cost me $400 pesos to go from Boca chica to zona colonial. Taxi tried to charge me $40 USD to go to San Isidro from the airport!! Kick rocks. Uber was under $300 pesos
Yes, the taxistas there are out of control, had many problems. On the bright side, the bus trips I took all went quite well. Reasonably comfortable, left on time, etc...
