    Great videos! I've been watching your stuff for at least a year now. Well done!
    Which coils are they? AUDI Vag coils? Long stem? What part number?
    I'm running EMU Black also and just self taught, built the motor in the garage, wired and tuned myself and have added traction control, boost by gear, DBW, dual wideband, CAN EGT temps, CAN Bluetooth and data logger, CAN V3 Switchboard etc, PWM fans and PWM electric water pump control. Love the ECU Master stuff! Road registered 1984 Supra

      Yes they are Audi r8 coils. I get them from Ecs Tunning. I don’t remember the part number.

    Don't need to worry about setting timing crazy unless you're running 272 Cams

    So where the light flashes on degree mark on crank pulley shows your timing ?

    Is there a way to set timing without car running but just turning over with starter and efi fuse pulled? Like will the timing light still flash at that slow of speed?
    I just want to make sure I’m in the ballpark before I attempt to fire up the car

      @fox-body  Před 11 měsíci

      You might be able to do that. You won’t damage the engine at idle if the timing is of. If it runs it’s in the ballpark. Precise timing matters more under load/boost.

    Would it be better to run the non vvti or the vvti I have both I'm just going to be Daily driving it and I love your videos man there very helpful

      I like non vvti. Less complicated. But vvti does have advantages especially on the street.

      Can you do a in depth video on tuning in the future also sir

      Yea I might be doing a video on that.

    Awesome video, thank you!
    Question, why do you recommend the 10 degrees and not 0 degrees? Does that number just add to whatever numbers are on the actual ignition map?
    Example, if your ign map is at 15 degrees under boost/wot, and you set the trigger angle to read 10 degrees on the pulley, does this mean you are running 25 degrees total while under boost/wot?

    • @fox-body
      @fox-body  Před 10 měsíci +1

      No. Your just locking the timing in the ecu so you can verify on the balancer. Once you unlock it defaults back to your ign map. You can use 15 if you want or 20. Doesn’t matter as long as it runs smoothly.

    • @1anddonecarpetcleaningrest323
      @1anddonecarpetcleaningrest323 Před 10 měsíci

      @@fox-body forgive my ignorance, but if once you unlock it, and goes back to the ignition map, why does it matter in that case? Why not just adjust the timing on the ignition map at idle? Seeing how the 2jzgte doesn't use adjustable distributor or adjustable cam sensors, as long as your timing belt is right on, you should be fine, correct?

    • @fox-body
      @fox-body  Před 10 měsíci +1

      There’s a lot of variables. And you don’t want to assume the base tune you got has the correct offset. That’s why you want to verify the ecu is on the same page as the timing at the balancer. If it’s of a few degrees you adjust the offset in the ecu to match. Other wise, if your commanding 20 degrees at 20 psi of boost but it’s actually 23 degrees it can cause damage. Keep in mind this is only for stand alones.

      @@fox-body got it. I'm using the ecu master classic. Just trying to wrap my head around this ignition timing. I understand it fully now. I truly appreciate the knowledge you've given!

      No problem. It is one of the more misunderstood topics.
