- Fixing a little Fender frontman 15 that has a problem with buzzing / hiss at all times. I open it up and clean and re seat all the connections. You can follow how I tear it down and put it back together. I have the added bonus of removing broken RCA connectors from inside the jacks on the amp.
A very thorough step by step video to trouble shoot, tear down and repair the amp. I enjoyed the video very much Scott and Thanks so much. The amp works perfect again.
Great video! I just received one of these little amps with similar buzzing. My first thought is the RCA inputs are the culprit. I tried plugging RCA cable in and it does not go in. I'll be ripping into this later today. I suppose those tips sitting in the plugs could cause all of the buzz?
Thank you so much for explaining the issue. I had this amp laying around and wanted to use it but it had the same issue. After watching your video I was able to fix it and now is perfect. Great stuff!!
That's great news. I post this stuff to document my process to retrace my steps. But it is great that it helps others. I hope that I can post other things that help others.
Did you learn to repair by watching youtube videos or have some formal education on electronics? Just curious with your way of diagnosis. Regards.
I have always watched what any trades person has done. I have studied alot with books, online courses and working with old people in various businesses. I have watched alot of youtube, but often for "How the components work and less how to take a specific thing apart.
