Poor Tauriel. Imagine meeting an adorable goofball, locking him up, learning that he's a sweetheart, almost losing him to a leg wound but saving his life, learning that he has to fight his own battle that he might not come back from and being super touched that he gave you his cool rock, getting frustrated with your friends for not helping his friends, going off to fight alongside him anyway, trying to save him again and seeing him try to save you, watching him die tragically in battle, then realizing you've completely fallen for him but now you can't be together. It's amazing that this relationship between an elf and dwarf who knew each other for five minutes that wasn't even in the book worked so well for this movie.

I wish I could have unread the books when seeing the films for the first time. Knowing Kili dies. In the books it’s a minor detail. But the film gave him purpose, making his death a tragedy.
Cried so much when Kili died 😭 such a tender love story between all this madness of war and hate.
Kili and Tauriel definitely deserved another ending although Kili dies in the book as well 😢

Evangeline Lilly is just perfect as an elf of Middle Earth.
I remember watching _LOST_ when it was airing and thinking why wasn't she in LOTR when she was acting next to Dominic Monaghan (Merry).

There was great chemistry between the dwarf and the elf which was so poignant to see.
How am I supposed to cope with this ending? How am I gonna spend the rest of my life knowing that Kili died and they never lived happily..

I was always crying when i watced kilie's died. I watched this Hobbit 12 &3 hundred times. Really love this movie this couple.

I was a bit sceptical about Tauriel character that wasn't in the book cause I thought it would be a typical Mary Sew, but in process of watching the movie I caught myself admitting that she is not irritating and I admire this adorable relationship that she makes with Kili, especially for the good chemistry in prison scenes. She liked him from the first sight and that is so sweet. Also everything she did was for saving him, not for us to love the new character. In short, Kili and Tauriel one love, I believe their love is true and I find it very beautiful

It wouldn't have been so moving if the actors didn't take their roles and the story seriously. Nice work from both of them. Abstracted from the film, a film should be made about their consummated love, only replaced by similar characters or in an alternate story with the same characters.
I actually got the most feels from Bilbo saying “Thorin is up there!” 💕
