Hello Washington! Thanks for the many compliments! They are very much so appreciated. =)
Aww, look at Jerry 9 years ago. Back then he was so nervous. And now he's all like,"h2! h2! Yes! Back to tournament!" XD
+AxeSkull Made my day
Pyramid Head Lol glad I did
Tricky Knights! Tricky Knights!

when I saw myspace, I instantly checked the date. such an old video.
“myspace” now that’s old
12 years ago , that's crazy
Yeah and im trying to find 12 years old comment

Hands down the best, basic explanation I've seen on youtube so far. Its systematic-no fail procedure that a beginner like me can easily memorize. Just taught it to a six year old and a ten year old! Thanks.
Welcome. I believe it when you say it was just taught to a 6 & 10 year old.
Here's a video of a young girl demonstrating the mate. :)

ChessNetwork lol? a reply only a month ago on a video posted in 2007. . . oh me I love your videos and this video made in 2007 is just...awkward :D different equipment, and you can tell the way you talk how comfortable you are with these videos...just saying its kind of amusing ^^
@@ChessNetwork Aww, she's so happy at the end. The video credits this video for teaching her. I learnt it from you too!
CZcams 12 years later: thats good Time to put it on main board
Exactly
Actually though lol
I'm watching 13 years in the future but this video is a life saver. I can now complete this mate with relative ease after just watching this video a couple times and practicing on stockfish. Great stuff
I just watched the video years ago, and i forgot to like it, here in 2019 i came back to just hit the like button.
😎
Totally spectacular video, you did a great job explaining this checkmate, thank you!
+Jason Trivium Thank you Jason! :D
+ChessNetwork wow is cool that you are still responding to comments on 9 year old videos, i love your videos, please keep up the great work
This is the best explanation for how to mate with two bishops that I have found anywhere, including paid materials. Thanks man. Subbed.
By far the best video Ive seen on how to checkmate with 2 bishops. Instead of showing just the moves you concrete the ideas of how to do it. Control the center and isolate the king to 12 squares. Advance your king to the one of the two squares adjacent to either one of the bishops. Using waiting moves for opposition and bingo checkmate. Great learning video. Thanks.
This is really the best explaination I ever saw on youtube about how to checkmate a king with two bishops. Thank you so much from Germany!
Hello Ecuador! :)
Hello
Man... I was 4 months old when he made this...
Oh my God back when Myspace was a thing
Beautiful! Instead of just showing a bunch of moves to memorize, You have conceptually explained how the process works. Cutting of the squares, cornering the opposing king, careful to avoid stalemate and then deliver checkmate! Thank you Sir! Very well done indeed!
Hello Toronto, Ontario! Thanks for ANOTHER compliment. =)

Wow...I didn't know you've been around this long, Jerry. I needed this vid lol.
You've really refined your voice over the years.
Thanks. Great video. Very clear and well explained at a easy-to-follow pace. From a beginner in Cambodia
Thanks buddy...now I will make my opponent feel his king is drunk
Quentin from Redding, CA. I watched both the knight-bishop and two bishop checkmate videos and feel confident in my ability to do it now. Great explanations, very systematic.

Hello from the London, UK! Thank you for the best video on youtube explaining the 2 bishop mate. Unlike the others you provide a systematic, reasoned approach. Keep up the good work!
@KingsServant1 Thanks! :)
So, 10 years later and your videos are still awesome. Israel here.

Wow, the entire nation of Israel wrote that comment? Shalom.
@Zachariah Zubeidi
Fuck off
Zachariah Zubeidi wish it was that simple
This is very helpful, thanks. Once I offered draw and got a draw because i only had 2 bishops and had no idea how to do it :(
I've been there. Don't feel too bad. The important thing is that one keeps learning.
Not the shortest, but by far the easiest to learn. Thanks for understanding the meaning of the word "algorithm". Too many people think they have "explained" how to perform this mate by simply working through 1 or 2 examples, throwing in some rules of thumb or suggestions. That is not an algorithm. This is a complete algorithm, and not too complicated, either.
I've been watching your vids for a while now - but have never watched these older ones - still really good and informative. Cheers from New Zealand
I m from Belgium mate,and I love your videos.that I just discovered !
Rbeida Dia same here
I am also from Belgium
Lol, my cousin and I watched this video and he disruptively yelled, “DuDe, hE hAs a KiNg, a KiNg Is nOt a BiShoP” and I told him, “Let’s play and you can’t have your king” and he said “wEll i DoNt nEEd a KiNg,” then we played. I just yelled “Checkmate” and he was like “WaAAaAh???” Then I gave him a 10 minute long explanation on why you need your king.
Hello from Poland!
It is definitely the best video about the concept of mating with two bishops I have ever seen!
I had been struggling very much to learn the system but I have finally achieved it! Thank you so much, please, more videos! :)
Great!
Glad to have you aboard. :)
HI sir I am Narayan from India. It has been a while since I am following your videos. your interpretation of the most significant games, esp. those from the world championship tournaments and of alpha zero vs stockfish has been a delight to watch. your are really breaking things down to such a level that even a beginner like me can understand well. your speed of explaining makes it quite easy to grasp your point. your videos are really interesting, quite like interesting tales...
Thank you sir for your videos...
+Narayan Sarkar Thank you Narayan 😊
superb! thanks from the Motor City Detroit

@@jolez_4869 I actually think it was a joke, saying how easy it is to checkmate

Hello from Texas, I truly enjoy your intricate explanations of these specific situations. Thank you ChessNetwork

Hello from beautiful and exotic Cleveland, Ohio.
Thank you very much. I was having hard time implementing patterns other videos shown because they were not exactly pattern they were just saying control this square control that square.
But yours is like an algorithm which can be memorized.
I couldn't find a simple way to do it, all the other videos are so complex! Thanks for this easy approach!
wut if both bishops are on the same colour
***** underpromoted pawn
Why would you underpromote a pawn to a bishop when those are the only pieces you have to checkmate?
just hypothetically,
like if a queen or a rook wouldve stalemated the game
I've looked at it and it's impossible to checkmate with two same-color bishops. With two knights, it's possible to mate but you can't force it - the opponent has to make a blunder - but there's no possible way to get mate with two same-color bishops even if the opponent helps out. They just can't cover enough squares, even with the king in the corner.
draw duuuuh. no checks
Hello from Chicago! Thanks for all the great videos, Jerry!
Hello from the Netherlands! Enjoying all your videos!
That was really instructive! Thank you for making it and posting it. Much appreciated.
@chessnetwork thank you for the lesson!
You asked for comments stating where we are watching from. So. I live in Berlin, Germany and have been watching you video for quite some time now. I enjoy both your educational videos and your tournament videos. Special thing about your tournament videos is your attitude as it shows up in your commentaries as you play. I thoroughly enjoy it. Than you, I hope you do not stop ever.
