    By far the best video Ive seen on how to checkmate with 2 bishops. Instead of showing just the moves you concrete the ideas of how to do it. Control the center and isolate the king to 12 squares. Advance your king to the one of the two squares adjacent to either one of the bishops. Using waiting moves for opposition and bingo checkmate. Great learning video. Thanks.

    Not the shortest, but by far the easiest to learn. Thanks for understanding the meaning of the word "algorithm". Too many people think they have "explained" how to perform this mate by simply working through 1 or 2 examples, throwing in some rules of thumb or suggestions. That is not an algorithm. This is a complete algorithm, and not too complicated, either.

    • @carterwood4197
      @carterwood4197 Před 7 lety +7

      I've looked at it and it's impossible to checkmate with two same-color bishops. With two knights, it's possible to mate but you can't force it - the opponent has to make a blunder - but there's no possible way to get mate with two same-color bishops even if the opponent helps out. They just can't cover enough squares, even with the king in the corner.
