Baez was always overrated. Player with very little talent, skill, and patience propped up for a short while with luck and raw athleticism. But those things ran out and he had nothing to fall back on.
I appreciate the comment, but I disagree. He was the runner up for MVP in 2018, and his only real problem was that he had a high strikeout rate because he swung at pitches he shouldn't have. With that being said, even with the high strikeout rate he was an amazing player and helped the Cubs make and win the WS. I see what you mean with the raw athleticism though, but baseball isn't a game of luck.
@@Baseball_Mania3 that was 2018, and even though he finished 2nd in voting his OPS+ was 129, which is good but not MVP good. 3 position players and 3 pitchers in the NL finished that year with more WAR than him, at least ten hitters had a higher OPS+. He was a flashy player which is why he was, for a short time, celebrated beyond his actual accomplishments.
@connormartin1618 being in the top 4 for WAR and among to 10 players in OPS is superstar stuff, you know how many baseball players there are? Take it easy
Its sad that he's lost his magic touch, always liked his playstyle
same, he was one of my favorite fielder during his time with the cubs. His swing is beautiful too.
I agree too🙃 I am a huge Baez fan, and I wish we could see more of what we know he is capable of, real baseball
Baez is the best,❤
Yes sir a new vid
your a real one 🙏
Cubs Javy was a superstar... kind of bums me out but I guess he'll just have to be comforted by his hundreds of millions of dollars.
