- Unfortunately, there is no more Omo, in Nigeria. What about Panadol?
The company that produce Panadol, was forced to leave Nigeria.
Unilever was the company that produced Omo, while GlaxoSmithkline(GSK) produce Panadol.
This video discussed what caused the end for Omo and Panadol in Nigeria, who forced these companies to stop production or leave Nigeria, the impact of their departures, and the new phase of competition.
Take a look!
No country should depend only on imported products
That is why it is important for the government to come up with policies that will protect local production.
If possible, give them subsidy on energy. Let the cost of production be less on them, so that they can thrive.
I used to think those products were produced in Nigeria, creating jobs?
@kenigiri So many of them were imported.
@@Ucheolisa interesting...
@kenigiri Yeah
Business is not for the weak. I pray the government does something about the economic situation of Nigeria but it won't get worse than this.
It is actually not for the weak.
But the funny thing is, these companies are doing well in some other countries, it is just that the business environment here, is becoming unfriendly, even to the strongest companies.
Sadly, it seems less likely for the government to do anything to make the country a favorable business environment.
just clicked on this video coz ya thumbnail is really good
Thank you, Roi.

Thank you, Abdul.
Amazing video. I didn't even realize I hadn't seen omo in a while
Yeah, it has now gone into extinction in Nigeria.
Thank you, Emmanuel.
You are a hit
Nice videos

Nigeria is Crumbling so bad 😢😢😢
Thank you so much, Solomon.
Indeed, Nigeria is crumbling. I just hope that we do better in 2027 and elect the best leaders.
@@Ucheolisa I hope so
We are the Giant of Africa and our Economy should speak that
@solomonolowu4633 Yeah, our economy should show what we are.
Unfortunately, other African countries are gradually growing ahead of us. It is a pity.
Very interesting video, packed with information every minute. Well done, thanks for the video.
Thank you so much, Oche.
I appreciate.
Yes.
We have dangote refinary in Nigeria now.
Yeah, we are just hoping it starts working as should.
Panadol? Sunlight? Omo Auto? All I still bought yesterday. Almost everything here is still available including Omo but not popular like they used to. Everything is available at lots of pharmacy, every single thing.
Samijay, you obviously did not understand the video.
Any Panadol, Sunlight, and Omo Auto you bought in Nigeria, is either an old stock or imported.
The production of Omo and Sunlight detergent in Nigeria, was stopped in December 2023, which means the few left stock are still in the hands of those who bought them.
You stated that they are not popular like they used to. It simply because they are not available like they used to.
These companies are no more producing these products in Nigeria, you can verify, know better, and prove me wrong under this comment.
Quality production. Please keep it coming!
Thank you, Friday.
Have you seen the one I did about Diamond Bank?

@@Ucheolisa about the optimal editing style for videos
Oh, now I can remember.
Vega was talking about Magnatesmedia and CZcams formula.
Thank you for coming here.
What do you think about the video?
Was I able to create something good or bad?
@@Ucheolisaimo quality of editing is comparable to some other CZcamsrs with 100k+ subs,
The topics are quite niche which might be limiting the potential of becoming viral,
But keep up the good work, definitely can see the channel growing fast
@Cobrax_x Okay. Thank you so much, Cobrax.
I will definitely will work on the topics, and get better.
I appreciate your presence here, thank you so much for the review.
Thats not why they left or plan to leave. In every business there's always up and downs and business always find a way.
For me, their departure is not sensible. No sensible man throws away a market he already owned for lack of profitability. There should be more reasons like hostility or unfriendly business environment caused by hosts.
MTN too should leave now
But hope you are aware that MTN is planning price increase?
So, you saw the Omo advert during one of these EPL games, right?
Yes, they still sell it in the UK.
In the advert you will see they titled it 'Omo Persil'.
In some countries, it has different names.
But GSK produces Locozade Boost and Ribeena.
Which is still in the market.
Yes, some years back, they transferred the production and marketing of Lucozade and Ribena to a Japanese company called Suntory.
Around 2022, there was a report that a new company called Africa FMCG, would take over the sales and distribution of the products in Nigeria.
So, Lucozade and Ribena are currently not marketed and distributed in Nigeria by GSK. That is why they are still in the market.
Wow this govt is seriously destroying a lot of good😢
....I still see panadol
I buy it every week, there's even Panadol advance in Nigeria. I don't understand why he said they're not available no more
I didn't say there is no more Panadol.
You can take a second look at it, I said that "the company that produce Panadol, was forced to leave Nigeria".
That was what I said in the beginning.
Later on in the video, I explained that the company, is planning to use a third party distribution model.
So, the Panadols you currently see in Nigeria, are being imported, the company has left Nigeria.
Samijay, I didn't say that 'Panadol is not available no more'.
You can take a second look at the video.
I said that the company was forced to leave Nigeria.
Glaxosmithkline, the company that produce Panadol, is no more in Nigeria.
So the Panadol you currently buy in Nigeria, was imported. This is why there is a slight change in its price.
Sunlight too?😮
Yes
I miss omo🥲
With a very lazy Nafdac this is a huge problem
Very lazy.
Even to tell people how to dictate fake and original, is hard for them to do.
A Yoruba person will think this is a good thing. They think their brother is a good leader.
It actually has nothing to do with tribe. Every conscious Nigerian knows that this current government is not trying.
This comanies have been acquired by the lebanese n chinnese... We might see variou
Wow, do you mean it?
On your mandate we die
Hahahahahahaha😁
It is better we unfollow the mandate, to save ourselves.
@@Ucheolisa if only Nigerians listen.
@chineduawduche6177 That's the thing.
@chineduawduche6177.
Tinubu will handle the economy and shittima will tackle insecurity. Our government has our interests at heart😊.
There's certainly no corruption at aso rock💯.
@ADM.II. that was the promise they used to scam Nigerians.
Hope dangote brings a solution
😁
That's if he is interested in home care products and drugs..
