If the whole purpose is to try and give his daughter as normal a life as possible, and ensure that he doesn't take away attention from her, it would make sense for him to do something similar at all the large events in her school life.

I personally think this is a gimmick. Eminem is an exceptional entrepreneur, and using his intelligence to bring “hype, excitement, attention and viewers” to a situation leading to the release of his next album. This is big brain moves, having Benzino “re-hash” what was dead, bringing controversy around him, putting himself in the light to build up a release.
None of what I am saying is negative, I just simply believe his intellectual level for entrepreneurship is passing people by while he is putting on a “show” for people to get hyped about.
Smart moves, big brain power. Nothing like getting people involved invested well over 6 months before you release an album.
