You are right. Zhou Shen's high voice is not ordinary falsetto. His natural voice is already high, between soprano and kid's high pitch.
The point is that this song is mix of two songs, and you can hear two song hamony together at the end which is quite amazing.

"Our Song" is actually the name of the show. Zhou Shen and Hacken Lee were partnered together, the only pair that lasted the entire season. In season one, they sang 10 duets, one trio, and one quartet together. In season 2, they made a cameo return and sang two duets. Aside from that, they also performed together in a few other shows/parties for the station behind the show.
"That Sea" is actually the name of only half of their performance. This is actually a mashup of two songs with a sea theme. The other song is "Listen to the Sea", and Zhou Shen's solo lines and the parts where he sings the main vocal is taken from this song. The parts where Hacken Lee is singing solo or the main vocal are from "That Sea". The magical part is that the two songs fit so well together, both in terms of music and lyrics.
Paul Zhou Shen is a Countertenor, if you look up Super Vocals 2018 he was in that. He sang Time to say goodbye, Memory, Think of me and some duets and some trio's, and you will still see him sing with some of them still today in his show's.
He sings naturally in the countertenor range, but he doesn't use the vocal techniques that normal male singers use to sing countertenor. In Super-vocal, Zhou Shen describes himself as "like a" countertenor.
@@tanithryudo countertenor is not a voice type but a role in choir. A really high tenor like zhou shen or karl from philipine (Their ranges are similar to a contralto or mezzo-soprano) is considered as a male-contralto or countertenor. Their speaking voices may sound like Feminine thats a characteristic of countertenor. But a baritone or tenor who strengthens his headvoice sometimes is chosen to sing a countertenor part because countertenors are rare. Sorry if i type wrong.

I like to recommend 'Heaven Island' for you to react to. This video got removed for a long time on the internet and somehow they release it again. 'Heaven Island' is a scary lullaby and the performance was from a TV show in which some artists got invited to the show and try to solve some murder cases.
