    Ram Dass Here and Now - Ep. 91 - More Profound Than Miracles: beherenownetwork.com/ram-dass...
    ================
    Ram Dass tells the story of Maharaji arranging the reunion of a barber and his son by appearing in two places at one time
    “More profound than miracles is the quality of His presence - His unconditional love was so intense that it cut through cynicism, doubt and separation. Imagine a place where someone is living in that presence of unconditional love all the time with everyone - and everyone you see is their Beloved. A fully conscious and realized being is that - there are no conditions and no attachments.”
    Show Notes
    On the other hand we all live within limits which prevent us from loving freely - we are conditional lovers. How do we transform? Not by destroying our bodies, thoughts or emotions but by getting beyond the attachments that prevent us from being free and unconditional lovers.
    Dada Mukerjee tells the story from his perspective in his book By His Grace:
    It would be such a problem for the barber to give him a shave.
    In Kainchi we had some old barbers who knew Babaji very well. While shaving would be going on, he and they would be talking to each other and they would actually be basking in his grace. It would take only about half an hour or so to do the shaving, but they would not be in a hurry and would stay the whole day.
    In Allahabad also an old barber would come and there was no problem. He understood Baba and was not in a hurry.
    The problem came in Brindavan when Babaji said, “I shall have a shave.”
    We did not know any barber and Kishan Singh’s son, Bapu, was asked to find one. He got a young man who ran a small shop in the bazaar.
    When that barber came, he was in a hurry because he had left his shop. The shaving was to be done in my room where there was an adjoining bathroom. The barber came and I went to get the hot water and other things.
    When I returned, I found that Babaji had taken the bedsheet from my bed and wrapped it around himself. Maharajji held the sheet tight and said, “You never give me this. Do not snatch it away.”
    I said, “I will not.” So the shaving began. The greatest difficulty was that Baba would take the mirror in his hands and make faces in it. The old and expert barbers knew how to deal with this, but the young man in a hurry was having trouble.
    I said, “Baba, sit straight and let him shave you” But he kept moving and there was a cut. The barber was upset.
    Maharajji said, “What is that? What is that?”
    “Of course, it is a cut. This is what you have done. The poor fellow is embarrassed; he feels it is his fault. It is yours. You would not allow him peace to shave you ”
    Some alum was put on - it was only a small cut. The barber finished and went away. Babaji asked me, “Dada, will the hair grow here again.”

    I uhm I uhhhh have an obsession with maharaji and ram dass and I can’t deny it or push it away anymore. I am always drawn back and I remember when I first felt my own transcendent nature, my heart was blasted open and I felt the deepest feeling. I’m not sure what it was. I was stuck laying in my bed for weeks crying all day and night, and at the deepest point I remember getting recommended the Hanuman chalisa on CZcams, I had no idea what language it was or what it said, but it brought me the most comfort and love that I had ever experienced. After I felt that much pain in my heart after a while it got too much and my heart shut closed, which was also very painful. I was reading the Gita which first led me to realizing my hearts true nature, but I ended up throwing it into the top off my closet almost because the truth was too painful. I still long to feel that openness again, even though it was the most suffering I have ever known , yet also the deepest love. It’s strange the thing I long for the most is the thing I don’t want to face the most.

    Then I listened to it again right now and felt like I had never even heard it before.
    My mind is so beautifully blown out 🪷right now!

    I had a life before ram dass where I would be constantly be like the woman in the bus guessing what someone is thinking about me. And a life since discovering ramdass where not only am I able to live in love more and more, but increasingly also able to be the space which doesn't really want anything from someone.
    So when our eyes meet, and I can be just love without conditions, I see all their paranoia settle and the smile come up. And I see this happen more and more.
    I have tried to life the life of hard work and controlled my desires so that I don't have to take debt, but then this man popped up and gave me the debt of love. One that I keep repaying by laying the same debt on other people and the wonderful part is it never seems to be done. What a human being. And thank you to Raghu and everyone else who help distribute these teachings. Love you all. May we all be kind to each other.

      @SoftserveSodium everyone does not agree that Raghu's contributions appear not worth listening to. What evidence do you perceive that Raghu has a need to ramble? I don't percieve rambling. I hear Ram Dass' ally sharing his message. Oftentimes people don't live up to the model we have in our heads of them.

    • @CaptainPhilosophical
      @CaptainPhilosophical Před 2 lety +4

      @SoftserveSodium its your over generalizing with the words "everyone" and "nobody", psychoanalysis of Raghu without ever meeting him, and your 'if X then ALL people are Y' logic I question. I don't question some people want to skip Raghu's contribution to the podcast and go straight to Ram Dass because I am one of them.
      Raghu has devoted his life to preserving these talks in this free podcast form for ALL people to listen to. One if the main reasons you are here listening to it is because of Raghu.

      Im with softserve on this one. It's similar to what RD says about rajneesh... The 'feel' I get from Raghu is off. It's that of a salesman and self promoter. If he really wanted to spread RD's teachings as a Dharma he could do it in a much less controlled and commercialized manner. He feels much more like a gatekeeper & businessman who is trying to profit off of another's success and brilliance
