I really believe Stormgate will be a success. When they iron out AI problems and bugs it will be greatest RTS after sc2. I just hope other rts player would give it a chance. Respond from rts community has been so toxic... Hugs and kissus to dev team
I believe the toxicity is mostly due to fear.
Rts players are afraid the already realitvely low amount of rts players can get even more fractured by stormgate taking in players from their rts games.
They want the game to either be perfect (satisfy everyone and unite them into migrating to the next big thing) or not exist at all.
Bear in mind most of the toxic response is from crazy Internet degenerates that do not reflect the opinion of the average video game fan or potential casual RTS fan that wants a fun campaign, arcade games, and team game experience
I wouldn’t worry about all the haters too much. IMO they’re a vocal minority, the success of the Steam Next Fest and Wishlist show that a lot of people are interested in this.
The response is toxic because the game is just bad. And they've nearly burned through $37M to build an unacceptably mediocre game.
@@GoldenDaemonasNo it's because the game sucks. It lacks creativity, innovation and soul.
love that i can listen to these updates and dont have to pull up emails and other posts. Thanks for the hard work man!
Thanks for watching!
cannot wait for the third faction and seeing how Frost Giant takes us to full release!
Great video, thankyou!
so excited to see more. Voice packs are something I would buy (which I definitely have in sc2).
Good i was kinda of woried about what they were considering relese. Glad to see the game have a shot at actually being what it was envisioned to be
"So you're tellin me there's a chance"
03:30 Ah, so they have cut the 3v3, campaign co-op and the world editor ("from the initial release")? Sweet!

3 years for release? there are a few other rts comming this year and the next hope they dont release to late and get beaten to market
It seems the intend for a release Q3 of this year. Just ran into the section where pig says 1.0 is 2025. I'm guessing they're following a non-conventional model of 1.0 not being the release/launch.
Early access is coming this year though, so whilst it won’t be 1.0 the game will still be accessible to all
@@Zaikaaa-eg9jb Yes, the model is running out of money before finishing the game.
How exactly is it possible that excess capital could be generated thru your selling stocks that would be invested back into development? If I'm investing in stocks I'm investing in stocks, i don't want my money "invested in development" if you oversell the stock i just want my money back..... did anyone bother to ask exactly how that was supposed to work?
As an investor, while your money is "invested in development," it's being used in a way that is intended to increase the value of your shares. Instead of receiving your money back directly, the idea is that the company’s growth will lead to your shares being worth more, providing you with a return on your investment through increased stock value or dividends.
This is the way stocks work for companies, you can't just invest in a company for .000000001% of their worth and get to tell the board of directors how to handle your financial investment, if you don't like the direction of your investment, or trust the company to grow it's stock you shouldn't invest.
I personally would not be concerned about a Video Game company using it's capital from investment to continue making a Video Game.
Investing your own money into this game has to be one of the most irresponsible decisions you could make. They've already raised $35M from venture capitalists and $2.4M from Kickstarter without a finished game, which was promised from the outset. Then they opened an Indiegogo and a crowd funding campaign. They should be judged by their actions - not the words of their PR department.
Not to mention that they need this game to bring in a ton of money via microtransactions which is extremely unlikely to happen. Most who wanted to support the game already have. They're gambling on converting Fortnite kiddies to RTS. Unlikely.
Kakao has a terrible history of terminating games
Good thing they don't have creative control in this one, then.
Do they? Eternal Return is still going, while rather dead outside KR.

They said from the very beginning that they were funded. The purpose of the kickstarter was to fund Beta access. I *assume* that when they opened up investing to the community, it was because of the requests of diehard fans. Better messaging probably could have prevented this fake panic of people thinking the game isn’t funded.
Guys, these are some of the biggest super stars from Old Blizzard. VC’s are lining up to throw money at them. The game is coming lol.
You mean the bad, ugly, dollar store mobile game soulless clone of every blizzard IP in one RTS with a stupid setting and bad universe design is coming?
@@HoretzYTwhy is everyone comparing it to a mobile game ?
@@lxdnd because the graphics/unit design are aimed at a younger public (especially asian world market) also the universe design reminds people of all the fake chinese mobile game clones of other world acclaimed IPs
@@HoretzYT Honestly, I agree, with the caveat that mobile games look much, much hotter. See Mobile Legends. See Layla Bunny Babe.
- Adûnâi
@@HoretzYTthe sweet taste of pure hatred. Just move on dude, you don't wanna play the game it's fine. Nobody really need you anyway, not the community nor Frost Giant. They'll do fine without your precious feedback.
Seriously?? 3v3 instead of 2v2?? 🤦♂️
I wonder why not both
2v2 is definitely on the cards as well sometime in the future
the amount of copium in Stormgate simps is insane.
I'm not cheering for stormgate, i am cheering for any new RTS after 10 years of sweet fark all from a gaming industry that has relegated RTS to the indie seconds bin.
Call me a simp, but any new RTS is worth a look.
@@user-ur4nl6dq2x yeah that is all true if the studio wasn’t lying to all of us.
@@user-ur4nl6dq2x StormGate has only hurt the RTS genre so far.
- Adûnâi
@@user-ur4nl6dq2x Stormgate's inevitable failure will make it more difficult for the next RTS games to get funded.
Broken game even more
