- Well look who decided to show up at my family vacation: none other than the King of Pop. This is at Epcot, sometime around 1982 or 1983, judging by how old I was at the time. Several people have commented that John Landis - the director of Thriller - makes an appearance at about 0:13. My guess is this Disney World appearance had something to do with that, although I've seen some interviews with Landis where he says they went to Disney just for fun.
Love those fountains by WET Design. So ahead of their time.

This was shot on December 3rd (possibly the 4th) in 1983, around the time that Thriller debuted on MTV. I know because I was working that day as Dreamfinder at Journey Into Imagination and met Michael in the garden area at his request.

Omg this is epic rite here.! Whoever caught this on film in 1983. Wow.!! I was only 2 years old just about the same age as that little boy in this film.! Ha ha.! This is a masterpiece.! Geez.! Rite around when he did thriller too.! Good stuff.!:)
I was in Disneyland during the Christmas/New Year's holiday in 1983 and I saw Michael Jackson there. I have a picture. He is also with Webster.

Woah this is crazyyy cool!! I'd die if I grew up and I found out MJ was in a home movie of mine like that's just beyond insane. It's also super weird to see MJ in such a normal environment. I'm extremely jealous!! Btw this is in amazingggg quality for a home movie in 1983. The earliest home movies I have are also from the early 80's and those are in black and white with very blurry quality.

yes, it is Landis. he talks about this visit to Disney World in an interview after MJ died, where Landis cries at one point. he talks about being surrounded by thousands of fans at one point and barely escaping to the car with Mickey Maus employee.

Hey thanks for uploading! I love it! You must be about my age haha .... that is about how young I was around 83-84. That is John Landis. The Thriller video was filmed towards the end of 1983, so this was either about that time or in 1984.
I believe it might be. I had someone else mention that too. It would make sense - the video for Thriller was 1983 I believe, so this was right around the time they were working together.

so i'm at disneyworld with my family, and the biggest star in the world (in the midst of thrillermania) steps into the frame of my super-8 lens. fuckin right im gonna film him! as we can see, its from a distance, and my guess is this is just before the whole park caved in on him.
I'm young therefore I was so not born when this which is annoying once I start thinking about wanting to have been born earlier even if I had nothing to do with it and sad because I never had the opportunity to meet him but in a way better bc some people have been really close but couldn't so that's worse
