      Carapaz is the luckiest cyclist in the peleton. He only won the olympic gold medal because no-one wanted to work with Wout to catch him. He took polka dots in the same way this year. He is a fake.

      @@AshKetchhum Carapaz has won the Giro and podiumed in the Tour and Vuelta. How is he not a GC contender? He might not be quite there with Pogacar and Vingegaard for the win, but he's pretty consistently been a GC contender.

      I saw that and laughed out loud hahaha. Before that moment, a fan was running after pogacar and another one pulled him in to the side of the road and then the guy that was pulled was engaging the other one. Probably a fight? Lol 😅

      yeah there were quite a few 🤡🤡🤡on the roadside that i found myself shouting & swearing at today;
      one numpty had his back to pog/ving (or it mightve been carapaz/mas), looking up the road to the camera moto, hunching over and holding a cardboard sign as he awkwardly ran directly in front of the riders with not a lot of spare road to get round him or at least they would've had to deviate significiantly to round him had they wanted to attack.
      eff knows what his precious sign said, i was too busy swearing my head off, telling him to get out of the way!
      hope the screenshot was worth the grief you ought to get when you post it online, you 🤡...

      This year especially has been such a weird race. The breaks have been given almost no leash. Some stages there was barely a break at all, and others they've caught the break super early.

    Just realizing now there is no final ceremonial sprint stage with champagnes etc, bummer. Will feel incomplete without Paris. Wish they had done something to supplement Paris for the sprinters who survive three weeks.

      Truth. And stupid Matt Keenan keeps running him down saying that Remco was also in the crash so he was also disadvantaged. No mention of the fact that Jonas almost died and Remco only received mild injuries. I'm not going to disrespect Tadej though. He destroyed everyone this year.

    Landa has been amazing on this tour. I think quick step should considering to bet on him as GC leader on la vuelta. Him and Almeida have a big chance to get something, especially because we don’t know how well roglic’s form will be. If giro and tour were both “boring”, la vuelta is gonna be a very different story

    When they got onto the final climb and the break was messing around with a 3 min gap, I was so confused. Did none of those guys watch Pogi break the space time continuum yesterday when he closed down a 4 min gap like he was racing amateurs. I don’t know if would have mattered but Carapaz and Mas needed to ride all out from the base of the climb if they wanted a chance at winning.

      Pog wasn't going to drill his team all day to take the stage, but he also wasn't about to NOT go for it when Quickstep decided to bring the gap down to a minute for him. Once they committed to pacing, the winner was a forgone conclusion

    One of the running spectators got pulled back by another spectator and the passenger on the motorbike pushed another spectator to the side of the road. I can't remember exactly where but near the top.

      Jonas and Remco dont care about the stage as they do for their GC position. Jonas and Remco both want 2nd. Remco wants 2nd to show people he became 2nd on his first TDF. Jonas wants 2nd to prove he can still compete with Pogi. If Pogi can tag along without having to work and win a stage why not?

      Let me explain what you witnessed today-you saw someone who did his best, was trying really REALLY hard not to unleash his full power and humiliate AGAIN his main rival.Pog was riding at about 80%, even less, he just did not want to intervene in any form in the battle for 2nd. If he rode at 100% he would have put any number of minutes on Jonas, up to about 5-6

      La Vuelta climbs are steeper and shorter than the Tour's. They are not ideal for João Almeida's. I think he prefers the longer climbs with a regular gradient. Of the 3 Grand Tour, i think La Vuelta is the hardest for him. Chapeau on this Tour. First place among the Terrans, just behind the aliens 😂

    When Carapaz and Mas were leading, there was some on-camera talk between them that didn’t look too friendly. My Spanish language lip reading skills are weak, but one of them must have turned down an offer to cooperate..leading to the self destructive hostilities. They were both attacking each other from that point on.

    Remco has balls to try. But no legs. Jonas still show he is better, and puts more buffer into the TT. He has no choice but to pull Pog up, though he knows he will be eaten at the top. He just wants to cling on to 2nd. But fantastic show by Anchovy. 👏👏

      so happy to see him take the jersey yesterday then cement it today. was also thankful pog was no longer eligible for the white. we'll actually have the four jerseys on different riders in Nice for once, rather than polka getting swallowed up as a result of gc battle and in prior years white too due to their neo-pro status.

      Being in top shape over such a long time normally does not work. the body needs to recover from races and hard training.
      Doing one more GT would probably massively increase the chances of getting an injury and / or serious infection because the bodys immune system is weak when you are in top shape.
      He could destroy next year when he does not recover after the Olympics.

    Pog said they would let the breakaway today but UAE controlled it anyway at 4'30'' knowing that Soudal would probably accelerate in the second half of the stage. So Pog can win but still not look greedy. Clever.😙

      Jonas is getting served his own medicine... not working at the start of the tour and playing long tactics, its a bit funny to see him flicking elbows now asking for helkp to distance remco while not willing to assist at all in the first two weeks. Pogacar now in yelloww has absolutly nothing to work for, he cound have distanced jonas but then we would read greedy doped comments again, and he is the favorite for TT tommorow. Why would he pull Jonas while he needs seconds on remco and he can just worry for the stage win..

    absolute stupid racing from Carapaz - he wasted so much energy in those numerous attacks which gained him nothing! He should have worked together with Mas to the very finish... and the tactics of team Visma... last year they made almost no mistakes and this year🙈 Of course they couldn't win, Pogacar was too strong - but nonetheless!

      I'm not taking about right or wrong. I'm just making a case on the PR strategy. No matter what the truth is it's not the smartest thing to do. If he's clean, by going for all those individual stages so dominantly is only gonna raise suspicion among a part of the public and if he's not clean, then he should probably try the lower profile to keep his yellow jersey and not make people want to prove he's not clean.

      Mateo inadvertently took the 1 point that still remained over that first KOM as he accelerated over that climb to join the breakaway ahead. If you follow the stage you'll see that he helped Carapaz bridge over to the breakaway where Carapaz would eventually score a total of 26 KOM pts over the next 3 summits and secure the polka dot jersey out of reach of Pogacar, 127 to 97.
