- Is Harley-Davidson out-pricing their bikes from their core buyers? Every year, they increase the price of their models with few changes. Not to mention the cost to service the bike. Is this brand still for the blue collar worker?

I never really thought of buying a HD until they made this bike. And I didn’t ever think of the ridiculousness involved until I purchased my ST. This guy’s comments are accurate. Harley has become a bullshit brand, worried about Clothing and garbage epa compliant angry chicken parts.
I’m in the Philippines and the low rider st is about 31 thousand dollars new from the dealer. Was looking to get a street bob and it’s 21 thousand dollars new. First service is about 300 dollars. Minimum wage here is around 400 dollars a month. Definitely a bike for the rich.
You can find decent Harleys at power sports dealers that sell metric bikes for $5-7K cheaper.
100% ...I saw a 2020 107 heritage with 3k miles at a powersports dealer for 13.5k ....that's a steal, those are 18k minimum at a harley dealer
America seems worse when buying a Harley compared to Australia. Most of the time we have minimal markup of RRP. I would say the service is substantially over priced. For what you receive, you are charged an arm and leg.
Owning a Harley (I have for 12 years), is an expensive hobby).
And let’s not forget the $500.00 oil change at your local dealership. Sounds like one heck of a deal. 😅😅😅

Fire Jochen Zeitz. Hes trying to turn the brand into a luxury brand which is totally turning its back on the blue collar worker who made the brand in the first place. The last CEO wanted more people to ride harleys not to price them out of the brand.

Why do so many Americans buy cars/motorbikes with credit? Is it because you really don’t have the money to fork the amount out in one go or another reason? I’m Dutch and own 2 cars, 2 motorbikes and a boat (all bought new) and the only loan I have is my mortgage repayment. I’m not wealthy, I work construction but I was always taught to save first, then buy what you can afford. Greetings from the Netherlands…
A service contract benefits the dealership, not the bike owner.
It guarantees them they will get the work. Often there is also a time limit on them. If you don't put the miles on the bike, it don't get serviced and eventually the contract expires with you paying for what you did not get.
I mean I'm interested in getting HD, mainly fat boy, but I can't justify prices of them, 20k for what is essential a toy is ridiculous, especially when I can only ride it 4 months outta year. Unfortunately I'm more inclined to buy new from Honda because their prices aren't insane.
Buy a nice 10 year old one that's been taken care of and accessorized. Let the first guy take the hit. You can find them cheap. Especially the twin cams which I prefer

I have said this for years. Most, but not all, ride Harleys as a platform to socialize with other Harley riders. They are not riding because they "like" to ride. But to socialize with a certain crowd at your local bar, you have to have a big Harley V twin, so therefore that's what I'm gonna ride!

I am brand new to riding at 42yrs old. I'd love to own a Harley, but the cost of those things are just crazy. 30k for a bike? What? You do realize we have a Joe Biden in office right? Their prices drove me right into the arms of foreign bikes, where I feel like I get more for less. Maybe one day, but it ain't this day.
Indians are about the same price, but they do have a little more tech.
Enough with the rich bulshit harley's bikes they can price them as they see fit regardless of your opinion if you can't afford them that's your problem not Harley's problem go find a different bike then simple..
