Haendel's music will keep always its own special taste . Awesome performance
That’s the best rendition of this piece I have ever heard. And there’s lots on the YT. The combination of the orchestral parts, the male and female voices is wonderful. The musical director combines this piece to perfection. And he’s pleased at the end and so he should be. Marvellous.

I have been on a binge for several years of Handel's operas, oratorios and also French Baroque Opera. So much beautiful music! I never would have imagined it would appeal to me before I began to explore it..

Quand tu réalises que lors du prochain courrenement de Charles III, les 3/4 des spectateurs se demanderont pourquoi il est courroné au son de l'hymne de la Ligue des Champions....

Since it’s composition, this has been played at the coronation of every British Monarch!
One of my favourite pieces and one of Händel's finest compositions. This is an excellent version all round, but what I thought was particularly effective is the way the choir sprang to their feet just as it exploded into the second part. I can imagine someone in the audience, unfamiliar with the piece, almost dozing off during the initial slow section. Then suddenly out of nowhere, a choir bursts into view and all hell lets loose. Magnificent.
Indeed the best rendition of all; crisp and energetic; a tour de force that uplifts all.

This certainly puts the lie to the canard that historical performances are dry, bloodless and academic. This is fiery and ecstatic. And the tempos are appropriately brisk, as opposed to the stodgy, Beecham-like tempi of so many online performances of this piece. Bravissimo!

No, it NOT the Champion's league anthem but the BIGGEST FRAUD IN MUSIC HISTORY EVER because it's an obious rip off of Handel "Zadok the Priest". The "Champion League" anthem has been written by Tony Britten (not Benjamin) and he awkwardly tried to explain that his "composition" was original... Your simple comment justifies that it's not. 😅

I think Michael means an orchestra with modern, not "period", instruments. The trumpets, oboes, and flutes are designs from the Baroque era, when Handel composed.
@@pete4096 I agree , I would suggest the performance at the kings coronation this year. Not a concert but the actual event the music was composed for, as a perfect example of this piece of music . The words have been sung or said at every coronation of our kings and Queens for over a 1,000 years
