Since the original version of this was hella short, I went ahead looped it and remixed it slightly.
The creator of this song is Bruce Faulconer, and of course the creators of DBZ is Funimation and shit.

To all those who viewed Imperfect Cell as the scariest villain, you aren't wrong. In fact it makes the most sense. Of all the threats to Earth, this version of Cell was the most personal and... intimate.
If you imagine yourself in the DBZ world, which villain would pose the most threat to you personally? The one that blows cities up at a time... or the one that slinks into your bedroom while your sleeping, shoots a needle into your neck or arm... and drinks you.
Niggamasu cell walking around with a boom box to his head and sucking people up. Thatd be pretty fuked up. like adding insult to injury type of shit!

He was cold and calculating because he literally wasnt close to being a strong creature based on Genetic memories and implanted memories. its obvious why his motives and actions changed as he got stronger. Self Preservation becomes null and void when you become/think you are the strongest creature on the foodchain. If you are lower you have to be careful and calculating. IE Imprefect Cell.
Yep this was his Starscream phase essentially. What he lacked for in power, he made up for in his cunning and calculated nature. A truly demonic entity this creature. There was nothing remotely redeeming about his character here. No Honor or dignity in fighting, purely in it to survive and thrive, with two shits to give about how he got his kills.

It's because he felt vulnerable in his imperfect state, his lifes purpose was to achieve his perfect state so he didn't fuck around. He was also much more mysterious amd grotesque probably why i find him scarier so love the industrial theme it fits him perfectly.
This cell was scarier than most horror movie characters, he would follow you and intimidate you waiting for the right chance to suck the life out of your body. His voice is so lifeless and cold, his eyes are dark and show no emotion. He has no remorse, he absorbs people without thinking twice. All the souls that he absorbs are still inside of him begging to be let free, you can see this when he powers up and all his victims are crying out for help from his aura. Imperfect cell is easily the most intimidating villian in the entire series.
I definitely agree imperfect cell is the definition of horrifying he is basically the only villian to ever actually do more killing besides Frieza and goku black and most likely kill anyone or anything to get what he wants he may not have any remorse for killing innocent people but he really did give their souls a perpose and that's to become perfection with him also making him stronger in the process

this form of cell is my favorite. he was truly frightening. he got less scary as he evolved
Imperfect Cell's design was the best because he was monstrous and inhuman. Otherworldy even for DBZ. Lovecraftian style horror design. He also lacked humanity, very cold and calculating in his character. Zero empathy. Even his voice was empty, cold, and inhuman. But even without these things, Cell had the best form of horror to go along with all of this. Mystery. While the Z fighters were trying to take on the Androids, Cell was a "wild card" nobody knew anything about this monster. Who, what, when, where, why. Nothing.
The unknown is the most scary thing to face.
As he got stronger he became more and more human, more perfect. In his first form he was just a cannibalistic creature who drink people to survive

Tracks like these are why I can't take Faulconer hater's seriously. This track is absolutely amazing and fits the theme and appearance of its character perfectly. Cell, the living biological weapon, the culmination of the universe's most powerful warriors, hell bent on achieving its perfection.

@@CandorHispanus some of the Funi dub music sucks to me like ginyu force theme sounds like some 80s generic super hero show. But tracks like vegeta turning super saying, gohan super sayin 2 theme, all the cell themes, super sayin 3 goku, that one trunks theme and others are really good.
I wish there was a mix of the Japanese music and English music. I’m wondering which version of the funi dub should I watch the one with the Japanese music or the English one. I soon gonna finish dragon ball so I’m used to the Japanese music tbh.
As someone who absolutely adores the Faulconer music, the one thing I agree upon retrospect is that it was used far, far too much. While I really dislike the old Japanese sub music as it feels extremely out of place, at least that had it's quieter moments. But in the dub? Every 5 seconds a new track plays to the point where they edit several tracks into one scene that cut right into the middle of each other. Like, it's not even that the music is constant as I love it so any excuse to hear the music is great but my issue is how they edit the tracks to chop right into each other without pause or logic to it.

totally agree. I still remember my first time seeing him. I was like.....ewwwwww.....and then first time seeing him absorb....well. let's just say that sticks out in my mind as one of the most disturbing things the show has ever done.

They should make a blue crystal cell, more spikey and have DNA from all the fighters, knowing all techniques of all the fighters, but he stays in this first form just with minor adjustments and being completely crystal like (diamond)
I also feel that way. It's like Cell got less scary with each transformation lol.
But also, you have to consider that Imperfect Cell protagonized disturbing scenes as fuck like drinking people while Perfect Cell even spared lives like Trunks.

Cell is potentially the most dangerous villain in DBZ. Since he inherits all of the Z fighters cells and abilities, he is more skilled than Buu and can always get stronger through Zenkai boosts.
Warp2567 and can absorb beings with his tail like he did with the androids to get a major power boost
Buu's regen is on the level of deadpool in that even if you vaporize every molecule of him, he comes back alive through some other means. So Buu never really dies. But let's be honest, the more Cell fights, the stronger he will become. He could become a SSJ3 if he trained like Goku/Vegeta, plus all of the skills and abilities from other Z fighters.
Cell does Solar Flare + Solar Kamehameha = instant win.

Warp2567 Buu becomes more powerful the longer he fights and with the angrier he becomes, don't you remember? Fat Buu's strength was increasing the longer that SSj3 Goku was stalling him according to Piccolo. Its the main reason Super Buu was as powerful as he was. The evil energy inside of Fat Buu became too radical for him to control since it was a tug of war battle between the good and bad. When Good Buu & Evil Buu separated, the Evil Buu recombined with Good Buu only this time around the Evil and angry side of the personality was suppressing the sweet and innocent side which is what made Super Buu so strong.I can't really see Super Perfect Cell matching up to a fully enraged Super Buu or even Kid buu for that matter.
Lord Bills I'm not so sure if I agree, Buu's power never really seemed to have any real limit.
I think cell is the only creature that has no power peak. He can always keep getting stronger both by training, Biology, or eating people. Also he doesn't age meaning he's essentially immortal and i dont think disease would be a problem for him either.

I had a nightmare about imperfect cell coming into my home after killing/absorbing everyone in my hometown. I was hiding under my bed when Cell crept into my house in the dead of night. I was crying but also holding my breath with all my willpower to make sure he didn’t know I was there. As soon as I thought he was about to leave, he turned and locked eyes with me and I woke up. I dreamt this when I was about 5. 20 years later and it still haunts me.
I had a similar dream, but more triumphant. 1st, he was only chasing me, 2nd, when there was nowhere else to run, I realized that if Cell was real, so was Ki, and I blasted him with a Kamehameha and woke up in a blue flash...
That's heavy! Dreams are crazy.

When Cell comes through, you know you're screwed. A being of pure evil, comprised of all the cells of the strongest fighters in the present universe. That, on top of the multiple forms, made Cell a really well-done and memorable villain.

Imperfect Cell was the most intimidating out of all his forms. I was even a bit creeped out when he made his first appearance many years ago on TV absorbing his final victim of Ginger Town.
Bro Imperfect Cell straight up gave some terrifying all out bone-chilling serial killer vibes!

I like how cell's subsequent transformations make him more humanoid. Also it seems its not just his power that increases but also his intelligence. Imperfect Cell is kind of simplistic and single minded whereas Perfect Cell is ruthlessly cunning

I love all the forms of Cell. Imperfect Cell was literally like a parasite, where his only purpose was to become complete, he fed like a leech upon all of Earth until that goal could be achieved. This state shaped his attitude to survive as such, making him more cunning and sneaky as a result than a powerhouse that threatened to kill anyone who challenged him.
Semi Perfect was still sneaky, but he was desperate. Having a taste of completion made him like a cocaine addict, desiring more and more. Semi Perfect Cell has all the abilities as Imperfect Cell, but with a more durable and sustainable body, he's in an awkward state of living. Evolution is still his only goal.
Perfect Cell is the complete being, nothing more is needed other than self growth and a purpose beyond just survival. Now he's a sustainable being, no longer needing to feed off other living things, as such he's become cultured. However his ruthlessness will always be a part of him, shaped by his more primitive evolutions before him. He isn't a tyrant, but he has a far lower than average opinion to other beings than himself. Thirsting for a greater purpose, competition is all that is left to long for. Total dominion over evolution itself.
Perfect Cell is my favorite villain because he incorporates the theme of evolution with such a simple cruelty, it's really kind of true to how nature is in real life. It's cruel, harsh, and makes monsters and victims out of everyone. In this case the ultimate being, holding the top spot on the Pyramid. Over even the Z fighters.

A shame Toriyama's former editor during the time of the Cell Saga felt he was too ugly this version of Cell is a terrifying villain even for DragonBall standards and considering he has the cells of Frieza and his father imagine if HE appeared during the time of the Frieza Saga after drinking not only Earthlings of the future and some of the past, but Frieza Soldiers and Namekians including the downed forms of the Ginyu Force, screw Frieza, Imperfect Cell would've posed and even bigger challenge to Goku and that's not including if Cell absorbs Frieza via solar flare to blind him.
The theme says a lot about the character. It sounds like muffled electronics, which Cell is an android who operates under the radar.
Cell will always be one of my favorite DBZ villains because of how Sci-Fi he is.
