In order to truly understand the music you have to understand the history of the country. Master Kong Ney is blind and he is one of the last remaining traditional musician artist that survive the genocide in 1975. We consider him a national treasure and he is what connect us to the music/arts scene of the pass before the war. I truly love how they honor him in this MV and how brilliant it is. One of the best collab ever & of course Vannda rocks!

Master Kong Nay is not Vannda's father, but he is one of Cambodian legendary artists. He play tradition's Cambodian music, now passing the torch burning with the left over fire of Cambodian art and culture to the next generation such as Vannda and the others.

@bayo Thanks for reacting to Cambodian songs. The old gentleman in the video is Master Kong Nay. He is a legendary poet in Cambodia. From my understanding, this song is basically is about Vannda (the rapper) trying to say that he can combine traditional Cambodian with modern musical elements to bring Cambodian music to new heights. Traditional Cambodian music is important to preserving our history and to Cambodian people. Such as classical music is to westerners. This song is also a call to action to the youths. That you can reach for the stars but you don't have to abandon traditional elements to be cool.

Vannda sometimes add English in his songs bc it’s just flows better (when he switch between languages as well). He’s a great lyricist/poet so usually it has references or double meaning and the meaning of those lines are missing when translated into English
