- This is the set-closer from Mazzy Star's final show before their hiatus on June 8, 2000 at the Union Chapel in Islington, UK. I uploaded "Look On Down From the Bridge" from the same show years before on this channel.
I got this through sheer dumb luck over a decade ago. It's hard to explain how I felt when I found out they released the studio version this week--probably a different reaction than anyone else in the world other than the show taper (and those in the audience who remembered the song). I will just say, the first time I heard this song, even through a live clip, it became my favorite Mazzy Star song of all time instantly and I've had it on repeat for years. I'm curious if others feel the same way hearing the studio version.
I'll get around to sharing the full show soon.
Note the lack of a second verse, no drums, no guitar, and slightly different lyrics in the first verse. - Hudba
just spent two minutes thinking she was singing really still. most beautiful song on earth.
After learning Mazzy Star's usual keyboard player Suki Ewers was not with the band on this 2000 tour, I posed this question via twitter "Who plays piano on this live recording [of 'Quiet, The Winter Harbor'], I wonder?" Suki today kindly answered via twitter, tweeting: "It was David Roback." Micro-mystery solved!
they are so still it almost seems unreal.

It was in fact unreal 😔
A nice "vintage" live recording of a fine Mazzy Star song. Thanks for sharing.

beautiful
Thank you so much for sharing this man ❤️
they should've added the guitar but oh well
,Thanks for sharing
I don't think the guitar part even existed at this point. There's not even a second verse here (which they kind of partially threw in for the studio version).
but i knew that it has been recorded in 2018.isn't it?
