Big Turbo EQT Custom Tuning DYNO DAY!

- So the new EQT G25-660 turbo is in. All of the supporting mods are done (well… mostly… as you’ll hear about in the video) so it’s time to get that custom tune done! I rented time over at Powertech Performance and scheduled a live tuning session with Ed Susman over at Equilibrium Tuning. Here’s how it went.

Noticed the boost gauge in the video. Quite a but of boost on that size turbo on 93oct. Looked like a peak of 35psi up top? How much timing on the 93 map?
Are you still on the stage 2 dsg tune? And what was the boost target on E85?
What fuel line were you waiting on? Link? Same for GTI I assume?

Something I wonder about this one though, wouldn't it change the output values (hp/tq at the wheels) if the haldex was still enabled on the car ?
You're getting 540 whp up front but wouldn't it be a little bit less on all wheels ?
Yes, theoretically on road when power is being sent to the rear the drivetrain would eat up some of that power.

You said the fuel rail was a beta. Beta from who? And what’s the difference in it and the one available on EQT website?

Great, If 91 octane what would be the highest PSI and HP can archive as now gas price very expensive.
What's needed to run e85 ? Can the standard fuel lines and everything that is oem handle the e85 without melting or being destroyed?

What rpm does the turbo spool up? Does this turbo make more power then the EQT Vortex XL? Thanks

Great content! Do you need a clutch upgrade to hold the torque? Maybe I missed it in the previous videos.
He needs the motor built well before he'll need DSG clutches

I am getting ready to have my powermax stage 1 tuned with EQT have you seen any difference between stage 1 and the 660?
check out my car
2260s is a bit more responsive but lacks top end power compared to bigger turbos such as eqt 660, garret g25-660 and vortex xl.

It wasn't very long. They will put you on the schedule.

@@racingteam2676 it's been a while but I think they give you some availability options and you choose. I may be wrong, but that's how I remember it.

Any concerns with the stock engine internals at these power levels?
That’s why the torque is limited to 450. As long as we stay there or below it should be fine.
Yes the engine is on borrowed time at that point. Set money aside for rebuilding engine or 07K swap.
What about spooling time. Is this turbo too laggy?
"Ed, the sauceman himself" LOOOOOLLLL!! I'v beaten several EQT tuned GTI's with my Mabo tune its hilarious!
I’ve beaten other EQT tunes with my EQT tune… it means nothing.
My Mabo tune was pretty fast but blew the motor quickly. Your mileage may vary.

Yes.
Multi port injection isn't needed. Same thing with the bmws just upgrade the hpfp to flow twice the amount of stock and you're good.
False. HPFP upgrade can’t keep up with the fueling requirements of a big turbo and E85.
