    Thanks for the very detailed review as usual Hugo. I really appreciate all the effort you put into making and editing your videos. For the price, this scope is actually very good value. And even though the bandwidth is a little overstated, 15MHz is still very good for that price. It's amazing how technology has evolved so fast and how cheap some test equipment for hobbyists are now. 10 years ago we would never have imagined we could get this type of scope for such a great price.

      Hi, my pleasure!, you're so right! I remember that when I was kid, the electronic kits where so expensive... with the price I paid my JBC 40W soldering iron, I could by a soldering station with today prices... well, this part I think still is true 😁 thanks for watching!

  • @antibrevity
    @antibrevity Před rokem +9

    Thanks for another thorough review. 15MHz is not bad considering it's advertised at 18MHz. That's actually a conservative marketing claim for this type of scope as most claim bandwidth more than 3X their real bandwidth. The signal is still useful at 18MHz.
    This scope is only US$28 *without* the battery, though. It's currently $36 with the battery and I'd consider the battery a necessity with this type of scope as it's annoying needing to have it plugged in all the time. The battery also gives you full isolation, which avoids potential problems with some circuits.
    I'm not affiliated with them in any way, but it seems to me that this SigPeak/Zeeweii company is actually innovating in this product category and not just putting older, slower designs into nicer packaging like Fnirsi sometimes does. I hope Zeeweii continues to improve their sub-$100 products and perhaps one day make a scope to challenge the Fnirsi 1014D, which is surprisingly overpriced for what it does and how much it costs to manufacture (no power supply, for example).
    I think it's sad that Fnirsi's 1014D has been so successful as paying just a little more money would buy a vastly better scope from another brand. I've seen 1014D's priced at close to $200, which is simply a rip-off, in my opinion. Good luck to Zeeweii ;).
    I'm not opposed to a USB-powered bench scope and think it's actually a good idea for reducing the cost, *but* the resulting product should sell for less than $100, not $180.

    • @dimivan1
      @dimivan1 Před rokem +1

      Paying $36 you also get the proper oscilloscope probe, which costs about 8 dollars on its own.

      Hi, thanks for the comment. I have to confess that I order the non battery version and they sent me the full kit, as I said before, I was in contact with Zeeweii. So, it was not sent free, but at least I received the complete kit with battery, but I only notice that it existed the version without battery after you post, I went back to check what I had bought.
      Regarding the price vs what you get and even if I'm a FNIRSI fan, the DSO138 PRO with 200Khz bw and 2.5MSa/s cost arount the $35, if compared with this one that has "18Mhz" and 40MSa/s and 8 waveforms function generator, there is no decision to make, the DSO155 PRO is a non brainer purchase.
      I think Zeeweii is still a very small company, thats the idea that I got, but with some talented people on R&D because they have their own models. I hope that they grow enough to create a decent support channel to the end user and to be able to improve their products. They are quite ahead of the rest of the competition.
      Thanks for watching!

      Yep, I got a Rigol 1054Z then realized I don't want to accidentally destroy it while learning. So then I got the handheld Owon 100Mhz model -- then I heard of the Zoyi zt-702(&3)s and decided I didn't want to blow up my still rather expensive Owon scopemeter, so I got those as well (giving my old zt-702s to a friend that has never had a scope and works on cars). ...... THEN I heard of these ZeeWeii scopes that seemed like the real deal compared to some others like Fnirsi, so I got this 1054 Pro model as well as their '125' Mhz single-channel model (1511G, IIRC?). I'm finding that these ZeeWeii's don't seem to be the normal 'toy-kit' types at all - they seem very real indeed! So in the future I'll continue to support ZeeWeii for their innovations in this cheaper market.
      ...And yes, I'm a firm member of TEA - Test Equipment Anonymous. 👍

    I am comparing this to another small scope which lists a sample rate of 1Msps 12Bits - can you advise what this "12-bit" sampling feature does and how does it compare to the DSO 154 ?
    Thank you.

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  Před 5 měsíci

      Hi, in this size, up to $50 I don't know any better than this. You can have a better ADC but if you have 40 to 80 times less samples per second, that can be a bummer in terms of data to display the waveform. Is true that this a bigger sampling rate because it goes up to 18Mhz, but, it will have the same sampling reate in lower frequencies like the ones in its price range. So, in this price range, I would not mind a lot of the 12-bit. At least this is my way of seeing it, until someone show me that I'm wrong. Thanks for watching.

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  Před rokem

      Hi, the max voltage is 40V, but if you use the 10x attenuation of your probe, you'll be able to measure voltages up to 400V. It doesn't depend on the oscilloscope but on the probe, so, please be sure that you select 10x on the your probe switch. If you do so, please change the probe compensation to 10x in the oscilloscope so it converts the values according the 1x or 10x. Thanks for watching!

    我真心建議,預算夠的朋友一次就下手買DSO2512G,這CP值才是最高😊

      Hello! Sorry for late reply, house move and vacations. I agree with you, the DSO2512G is really a very good device with a very nice price vs quality vs features ratios. Even so, for really cheap starter oscilloscopes, this one has the highest bandwith of the bunch! Thanks for watching 😁

      Hi again, sure, thanks for watching anyway.
      This is a comment just for reflection, the one thing in the world that you can't buy or get back is time. This video took about 8 to 14 hours to be produced, counting, recording, edition, photos, etc. Since I have a daytime job that I love, I usually work at night, some times up to 3 to 4am, so, you can imagine this takes me 2 to 4 nights to get it done.
      The revenue I got from those ads until the time of this reply and after 4 months being live was about 1/4 of the cost to buy and to deliver this to me.
      If you count the time I spent in here and I will never recover, you can understand that the ads are a smell help for at least don't have monetary negative result of this. I wil have this device paid in 1 or 2 years after of the video launch time. I don't do this for the money, neither the equipment, I don't need this oscilloscope when I have a Rigol MSO2102A bought before I even had the channel.
      But what I found out in the past and motivates me to spend my time in this is, that electronics is a very expensive hobby and when you don't have a lot of money, a informed decision helps.
      That's why my videos are long and try to show everything I can, about the device, that takes time and money, but I do it because I consider myself a priviledge person, I leave in europe with social security and "free" medical health and the videos are also seen by people that have to decide to spend the money to buy this or have better clother or food, If I can help in that decision process of a very scarce money resource, I'll be happy and the goal was accomplished.
      That's why there are ads, is a trade off so you help me also, at least, I will spare only my time and somewhere in the future pay the cost of the equipment, allowing this way to continue the cicle to have better information.
      I understand that on a perfect world ads will not exist, but if you find that world just let me know... 😁

      Greetings from Ukraine!
      You helped me a lot with the choice and understanding of how this device works. So thank you very much. And although I speak English at the high school level since 1983 - everything is perfectly understandable)).
