That's pretty brutal, honestly.
I do think that would be quite OOC for Shanks since he doesn't care about his ego. Rather I think it's because Kid was massacering the people on the island and so Shanks showed up. If anything I think rather than the amputation being a punishment it could have been a mercy. That he lobs off his arm instead of outright killing him since he does see some of the same drive and potential in Kid that he sees in Luffy. Maybe Kid's reckless violence reminds him of Buggy as well.

@@painvillegaming4119 I don't know if you noticed, but every important female character in the beginning of One Piece arcs start out like assholes, then once we see their flashbacks, it usually explains why they do the things they do, because of past trauma. Like Nami, who was a greedy petty thief but we learn she is materialistic and has an obsession with money because of her childhood and past with Arlong. Not only Nami but this applied to Robin, Pudding, Violet, Hancock etc. Point is important One Piece female characters usually start out like assholes, but they act the way they do and do the things they do because of trauma from their childhood and I think the same will happen with Komurasaki, were her love for money and the way she acts will be because of past trauma and she will later redeem herself.

yeah it seems like komurasaki is Momo's sister but again the way oda paints the kozuki bloodline as noble and stuff ; she must've done so in order to get close to Orochi to backstab him or kill him while he's offguard but again this is Oda we're talking about here!
She is likely only doing this to people with connections to orochi and kaido. I mean when you think about it, that makes the most sense, cripple those connections of control and gain the power through wealth, she could probably fund an uprising of her own by now, if she isn't already.
@@Blub31 it certainly seems plausible , but, if so wouldn't there be at least a rumor of her out in the streets of her other extracurricular activities? at least among the yakuza or basil hawkin's entourage because honestly the security in wano is too lax that tells you about the power of Beast pirates! and yeah Orochi seems like someone who would know about this seeing that he is too bent on the prophecy of Lady Toki and the weapons at the port ; ....now that i think about it maybe she has a hand in that too !
@@mohamedlalioui8757 Honestly, yes and no. If she herself was the one out in the streets then that would be one thing, and not for the reason you think. I know that courtesans in feudal Japan of her caliber were BIG DEALS! Seeing them walking around was a rare sight, and it was usually in the form of a procession like in this chapter. From what I know they usually stayed inside most of the time, they weren't celebrities, they were more like icons in a sense. One of the reasons for processions like this was to more or less say "Look at this one in a million unattainable beauty you were never going to have." So if she were to take any part in funding anything, it would be through done through loyal servants, probably like the girls were introduced to last chapter.
Most of this is assumption made through repeated sightings. Not a super credible source, but I figure there is probably some historical basing for it with how often it is in feudal Japanese themed anime, and this particulate subject appears a lot, so take my speculating as speculation.
I think she is Momo's sister. She is targeting the wealthy nobles of Wano, who themselves steal from the poor. I bet she sends the money to the poor somehow.

I believe there is more to her than meets the eye ; maybe she wanted to do so , but the tenants of said town were against the decision, that large amounts of treasure and money are needed to fund and raise a revolution ! this is just a speculation, take it to be a similar sacrifice scenario with the minks on zou! and always my pleasure to theorize with fellow One Piece fans !

Matt, I gotta tell you I've been a fan for years now. think back to the Bleach era, and I'm so happy that the anime community is a thing and you are a part of it.
Actually funny story when my wife, then girlfriend, first saw me open up your weekly One Piece chapter review and you did like a sketch or something and it was super cheesy I wondered how she would react. She just smiled, shook her head and we watched it together. We had no idea both of us knew about you, so we bonded over that and just watched AMVs and stuffz.

Another subtle character development for luffy is that he is now willingly giving food to other people. I remember back when he said he does not want to be a hero because heroes share their food while pirates dont

I'm sure that Luffy wouldn't take all the food for himself if he knew that people were starving.
I think that he was referring to the fact that heroes have to bow down to the government, while pirates have the freedom to choose to do so, a character development stemming from the fact that he's come across so many tyrannical governments.

It's much more likely Kid either did something that Shanks considered horrible (they have VERY different views on involving civilians) or he DID insult Shanks and someone within Shanks' crew chopped his arm off in return.

Andre Moya - it wasn’t a simple “mock” it would be a direct insult to his beloved friend. It’s not like calling Shanks a coward or weakling. Down playing the importance of saving Luffy’s life and losing his arm in the process could surely have set him off. I personally don’t think that’s what happened, but I don’t think it’s unreasonable either. Could also maybe have happened in response to Kidd finding out about the story and then insulting him, and by proxy insulting his friend.
Andre Moya And also - it’s not like he killed Kidd - I don’t think Shanks and his crew are above whipping someone’s ass over insults or threats. Just maybe not taking their life 😂

I think this chapter actually confirms that Komurasaki is definitely NOT momonosuke’s sister. Remember a while back in Punk Harzard kin’emon and Zoro killed a dragon and by the end of that chapter Oda revealed that momonosuke can turn into a dragon. He wants us to think momonosuke was killed by his own “father” Kin’emon. I think this chapter is like that, so by that logic Komurasaki is not momonosuke’s sister, and Oda just want us to think she is. Please give a like and spread this theory.

Yea i agree, i doubt Shanks would initiate the fight.
If Kid made it clear ahead of time that they were going to fight, or he put someone Shanks cared about in danger, then i might see it happen, but he is the most passive Yonko and one of the more passive pirates in the series all together. He let tiny bandits with barely any bounty make plenty fun of him, and i have no doubt he would have let a crewmate be made fun of (mostly because they can handle themselves), but once it gets physical, thats when he jumps into action.
well if kid ingiuried one of shanks's captain, even if it was his fault, probably shanks wouldn't let it go and would make an example for anyone who tries to hurt one of his man

A good reference for how much sea stone is needed to weaken/stop a devil fruit user. Then look no further than smoker!!! NO JOKE! The tip of his juut? Has sea stone on it... The tip of that thing isn't very big but, from past experience that was all that was needed to keep luffy at bay sooooooo... Maybea couple of grams tops, or just coating something in it is good enough. So Not much at all in my opinion!

NAMI - was first thought to only use to Strawhats but then finds out she was a prisoner of Arlong for many years before being free and joining the crew
VIVI - was thought to be a member of Baroque Works, but then find out she was under cover to help free her Country from Mr. 0 aka Crocodile and prevents a civil war
ROBIN - was thought to be Crocodiles right hand person and a deadly assassin until we find out about her backstory from being target from the world government just for knowing how to read to poneglyphs and the lone surviver of O'hara
HANCOCK - Was thought to be an evil empress who hated men completely, then we find out about being a former slave to the world nobles and they being the first men they ever encounter
VIOLA - was thought to work for the Doflamingo family and capture Sanji and the strawhats, then we learn she willingnly served them to save Rebecca after Doflamingo took over Dressrosa framing the king.
(pretty sure we are gonna get a sad backstory of Komurasaki, possibly Momo's sister?)
Didn't the world nobles also rape boa and her sisters? I don't even blame them for hating men when that happens to you the first time you encounter men.
